I'm sick and tired of Panther fans that are meek and weak

Every time I listen to WFNZ or go on the Huddle, I'm bombarded with timid, weak, "woe-is-us" fans that are absolutely convinced that Luck isn't coming out or that our GM won't pick him.

Vince Lombardi once said: "The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will."

When I look at the Panther fan base right now, I see fans with a lack of will. You see the failures of the past half-decade and have gotten so used to losing that you accept it. It's crept inside you where you no longer have the gusto to be an NFL fan. The failures have bred a mentality that Eeyore would love:

This has been an excruciating season, yes, and it hasn't been easy being a Panther fan over the past 5 years. But people: Odds are better than not that Andrew Luck is going to declare. No college player's stock in history has been higher than his. He has nowhere to go but down next year. And there isn't a single GM in our position that wouldn't draft Andrew Luck. Not even Matt Millen. And as much as I dislike Marty Hurney, he IS at least slightly more intelligent than Millen. So please stop going around with your head on the ground Eeyore-style. This season has been trying enough without you bringing it down even more.

Lack of will? You're talking to people who are here day in and day out posting and caring even after it was clear that our front office didn't even care about this season.

This isn't to anybody in particular. There ARE people here that post all the time just for the social aspect of it or because they just want to sulk and cry about how their lives suck. If you're not one of those people, more power to you.

+1 Gaz. I will cheer for my team (and will be taking a Jersey back home to the folks house next week so I can wear it in some bar to watch the Steelers game) until there is no team to cheer for. We have not given up on the Panthers, or can otherwise be thought of as having a lack of will.

I rooted for Carolina to win today just like I do every single week. I will not cry and pout if we lose on a #1 pick, but at the same time if we do get it I will not be blindsided by Luck not coming out. You have to be ready for everything.

    • Because playoff hockey and regular season hockey aren’t the same thing.  It’s a combination of the game intensity being dialed up with loose officiating.
    • The last 8 weeks, Nix had 2,022 yards, 21 TDs, 6 INTs on 70% completions While Bryce's last 8 games he had 1,709 yards, 12 TDs (albeit adding 5 more rushing), 3 INTs on 61% completions. I'm not going to pretend I watched those Broncos games to know exactly how Nix actually looked, but in retrospect, his statistics were better.  Hell, in just his final 8 games, Nix had only 5 less TD passes than Bryce has in his 30 game (28 starts) career. And you said he had better WRs than Bryce did, but I'm not even sure that's even true either. Sutton and Thielen might be completely different types of WRs, but I'd say they are pretty equal on effectiveness if not even a slight edge to Thielen (63.6 YPG for Sutton to 61.5 for Thielen).  Then XL and Coker vs Marvin Mims and Devaughn Vale, again, at worst a push, if not lean in our favor there too. Why is it so hard for some Panthers fans to just objectively look at our team/Bryce and be honest with themselves. ? He was significantly improved the final two months of the season from his first season and a half.  But he was still a below average QB during that time, even if he had a few good throws and clutch moments.
