Player Comparisons!

I know we have a lot of people who want us to get Peterson I thought it was funny to see this comparison.

Patrick Peterson is somewhat of a souped-up Chris Gamble. Really souped-up

Andy Dalton is compared to Rex Grossman

For people who think we need a WR...

Jerrel Jernigan reminds me some of Mario Manningham. Both have strong builds for their size, both have a knack for sneaking underneath and over coverage, and both have nice straight line speed. Jerngan’s better, in my opinion, due to his versatility, big

hands and ability to maintain acceleration when cutting or moving laterally. But both are undersized playmaker types.

Jernigan’s also got a good deal of Percy Harvin to him.

One WR I would love to see us get is this guy, I don't know if we could get him in the 3rd round but I would love to see us get this guy. He has been clutch and might be underrated because of where he is coming from.

I think Titus Young can be sort of what Ted Ginn was supposed to be. He’s not going to be your every-down No. 1 receiver, but he can line up in the slot and stretch the field vertically. He has strong hands and the ability to contribute in more than one way

Julio Jones flashes some Sidney Rice. Although, lately, that’s almost a knock on Jones. Both are strong players who can win jump balls, but every now and then disappear whether by injury or great defensive play. Still, when they get going, they’re tough to stop and they can handle the duties of the No. 1 spot. Of course, Jones is going to be taken a lot higher than Rice, and that’s deserved.

While I don't believe we need a DE we still have people who think we need to get Bowers. I personally don't think he will be a bust like Gaines was but history does seem to repeat itself and I don't think he is even close to be worth a #1 pick

Da’Quan Bowers wears the same uniform the late Gaines Adams once donned, which makes it easy to compare the two top-five defensive ends. Though, Bowers is a better player who moves laterally with less stiffness and a stronger set of instincts. Honestly.

And of course there are Andrew Luck Comparisons and yes they mention him being compared to Peyton Manning but they also say that Matt Ryan is a more realistic comparison. I wouldn't mind having a player like Ryan who in my opinion is going to be the top QB in the NFL in a few years.

I don't think Bowers is as athletic as Peppers. Peppers also has the talent to get a lot of passes defended and interceptions, something I don't think Bowers is capable of. I like some of your comparisons. I don't think Randy Moss is a good comparison to any player because of his issues off the field and recently teams have found many ways to shut him down.

From a physical standpoint its a great comparison. Moss's effort is what has been lacking lately not his talent when he comes to play he is uncover-able.

LOL comparing Peterson to Gamble is a joke. Has anyone at that site watched Gamble play....he's soft as poo.....the comparison to Revis or Aso is much better. Peterson is a monster at corner, he initiates contact at the LOS to jam a receiver, has excellent footwork and has incredible speed for his size. He's also built like a safety and can hit with the best of them......

I wouldn't deem anyone a monster before they get on a NFL field. It's his size, style, and press ability they are comparing, not how good he's going to be

    • I thought this presented an interesting point. It is fair to wonder now, about switching the two QBs as so many tried to do that first year where Bryce was trash and CJ looked great.  It is almost the reverse scenario now and I wonder what CJ would look like here with better weapons better coaching and better protection. Overall, compared year one.  If each player had been in the other place for the three years. I would love to see CJ with this team now.  Just to see.
    • I really have no clue what to expect sunday.  To quote one of my favorite bands of all time, Operation Ivy "All I know is that I dont know".  We could win, hell we could win convincingly, we also could lose in blowout fashion.  We could be in a back and forth game with whoever has the ball last winning.  I legit HAVE NO CLUE.  This isnt the dominant bills teams of the past, Allen is still elite and can win any game by himself.  That said, heres my stab at looking at things. Our defense is made to stop this kind of team.  Strong against the run, a great corner but meh talent around the field.  We've stopped prolific run offenses this season.   Javonte Williams - Season low yards and ypa against us. De'Von Achane - Season low yards and ypa against us Breece hall - 3rd worst yards in a game Fact of the matter is, we arent what we were last year, we are a good run defense and that lines up well against the bills, Stop the run.  For once the lack of moving Jaycee might be a good thing, he will essentially lock down a side and without multiple real weapons thats fine.  Buffalo does not have an elite guy, theyve got a gaggle of average dudes.  Allen will stay away from Jaycee, it will be on Mike Jack and Chau Smith Wade do to their part and they will be matched with guys they can play at the level of. On offense, we do what the bills are bad at.  We run the ball well, and they suck at stopping the run.  Rico and Chuba will need 30 carries.  Andy Dalton will need to be opportunistic.  My big fear is what we learned last year, Dalton can get overconfident and make bonehead throws.  Its this simple.  Run the ball, stop the run.  Dont turn the ball over.  If we do these 3 things, we will be in a position to win in the 4th quarter.
    • This makes me wish we took a flyer on Quinn Ewers late in the draft
