He could be reaching out, there have definitely been suicide threats posted on FB/Myspace that turned into real ones. If he's not someone who has experienced depression for any length of time or isn't going through turmoil in his life he probably just wants attention.

The problem I have is this: If you're complaining about your "friend"' posting suicide threats, then you shouldn't have that person on your "friend" list. I know that if one of my friends was saying something like that I wouldn't be reacting that way.

Social networking is getting ridiculous.

in her defense, it's her nephew (IIRC).. and as it goes in real life, just because you do not like some of your family doesn't mean you exile them like strangers..

Yes, he is still alive and expected to continue to recover physically. I'm not sure what the plans are for the mental part.

someone isn't doing their job if he wasn't shipped straight to the psych ward.. I'm pretty sure it's law that they be committed for a certain time period so doctors can analyze the situation..

I only read the first post so I didn't catch that. It definitely changes the situation.

If they call the cops during/after a suicide attempt I think you can get him in involuntarily.

Or if he gets inside a psych ward maybe he'd become a liability so they would commit him involuntarily.

Either way it's an awful situation. I know if I felt that way I would seek help and let my relatives know.

To just scare your relatives like that is deplorable. Suicide is selfish enough as it is. But I guess when your at such a low you just quit caring about others.

    • What I'm saying is that he wouldn't be on my board to be drafted. He'd be on the "if these guys go undrafted, give them a call" board.
    • Like I said before, I don't get the "only as a UDFA" sentiment, you have to keep following your board. Now if Pavia falls to what amounts to the supplementary UDFA section of the board, that's great, but if he's sitting at the top when you're picking day three (yes, I can't see him being drafted before day three), then you pull the trigger. Rounds 5-7 don't generally provide keepers anyway, you can use them for players that you want to take a closer look at that you may be able to develop.  Pavia may not translate to the pros. Nobody would bet anything of value on it. But, he was highly productive in college due to his play extension abilities, "body torque" mechanics on short and intermediate throws, and good accuracy on said throws. And, he has that dawg in him to be sure.  All that being said, Drew Allar will probably be able to be had on day three, and if it comes down to it--due to nothing but my prejudice against short, weak-armed QBs--I'd pick Allar.
    • Yeah, receivers contracts are crazy, and it's probably not going to change. You almost have to take your swings--keep some picks at WR churning between rounds one through three in order to keep your costs down and give you options at contract time. Creating that value surplus appears to be more important at WR and all the premium positions than getting a non-premium position player who generally are just easier to replace as it pertains to value. The holy grail is to hit on a premium position late, but due to the gradually declining hit rate on days one and two that drops off a cliff day three, you basically have to get lucky.
