TRADE RUMOR: DJ Headed to Clippers

Rumor, not yet confirmed: Not sure what we're getting back yet, but I think it's Baron Davis and someone else talking about it says Eric Gordon. I would love that but hope they can throw in a BIG, preferably Kaman or Dendre Jordan.

I hate to see DJ go and wish him the best. I just don't think he ever got a fair shot here.

DJ's brother-in-law on another board, he correctly called the Phoenix trade before it happened player-for-player, when we got Raja and Boris, and also called the barely nixed-DJ to Indy trade that got axed at the last second... He's always been really reliable.

But, just like with the Pacers, we need to wait and see because that one ended up dead.

Yeah, I knew MJ wasn't done blowing stuff up, but I was surprised this went through that fast if true.

He said he'd update it soon... Doesn't have many other details yet, but he insinuated that BD was coming back. Another board is saying something about Eric Gordon, which I think would be an awesome move for a young 2 guard for years to come...

Davis, Gordon, Kaman, they would all work, but what would we be giving up besides DJ? Perhaps a near-expiring contract like Nazr?

This is just my speculation, but I have a bad feeling that Crash is somehow involved also... Depending on what we get back, I just don't know if it's worth it. Then again, without Felton, apparently he's not that good, at least according to him lol.

I think this b/c the Clips wanted Crash a couple years ago for Kaman and we rejected it IIRC.

    • I'd rather not have Burns and draft good edge rushers. He wasn't worth the contract he got for a dude that could only rush the passer and frankly did a terrible job of it for us because whenever he did beat his blocker, he would whiff on the QB. Congrats to him for actually being able to wrap up the QB this year - it's the first time he has consistently been able to do it. The amount of teams that ran right at him while he was with us shows that teams realized he was an undersized edge and could get pushed backwards several yards on run plays. Having Dexter Lawrence next to you helps mask that problem
    • I mean, some of y'all keep on saying that, but the fact is is that he is the only Giant feasting. Burns is just better than many of us thought, myself included. Sometimes it just takes guys time to get to the top of their game, that's why I'm going to give our rookies a lot of grace. It might be a couple of years before they hit their stride (though it didn't take Burns that long). But I have been disappointed. Moreover, I suspect that they all might benefit by migrating to  a 4-3 base.  But Burns is what he is. It was ultimately bad timing IMO. After Scott Fitterer failed to take the two firsts, things were destined to go downhill. I think we should've kept Clowney for another year or so more than Burns, but it's all been fûcked up anyway, so nobody was probably going to make that much of a difference.
