Does anyone still think Wide Reciever is a big issue??

YES!!! LaFell has dropped too many passes and has been inconsistant, same with Gettis, both are as inconsistant as Clausen is. Steve Smith is double covered. NOW, if Luck goes to the draft, than you have to draft him, but if he stays, i think AJ Green is worth the look because i dont think any other quarterback is worth taking number one overall.

i guess you missed the memo about steve smith dropping more passes...

...than every reciever in the nfc south?

fix the oline. fix the qb.

drafting green alone won't fix the passing game.

I think now is the time to trade Smith but just like I said earlier in the season, Smith will not ask to be traded nor will the team trade him. He has a personal connection with JR that goes beyond the field. He is, was and will be the face of the franchise. And that is what worries me. No matter what QB we bring in, Clausen, Moore, or Andrew Luck, Smith is going to run over them. I really wonder if Jake's relationship with Smith is the reason he stay here and on the field as long as he did.

didnt say it would, but i think a reciever like Green would make the QB better. the offensive line is missing a right guard and we can put Luck back there, but i dont expect them to win more than 4 games. Luck has great wrote all over him, but if everything happens like i think it will. Luck will go in throwing to Smith, Gettis and LaFell, the panthers use a 3rd round pick on a guard, they avoid free agents that they can sign and Luck wins about 4 games, i like Luck, but he's going to need help and Richardson hasnt that he will open up his wallett to free agents. Add to that, they BETTER re-sign Khalil before free agency because i think Washington will chase after him.

We can trade Steve Smith, but that still wont help us in the passing game because (if the panthers management does what the fans wants) then i see Luck struggling to make plays because Gettis and LaFell are not number one recievers and (in my view) they havent proven to be number 2 recievers either, so trading Smith would hurt Luck if they draft him, even though i do agree that Smith would run over him if he struggles as would some of the fans.

    • Maybe a bit of a homer take but I can't give us a grade lower than A.   Freeling was arguably the best LT prospect in the draft.  His athletic ability is off the chart and at 6'7" that can move.  It was a no brainer pick.   Hunter's key word is Violence. Putting him next to Brown should scare an offensive coordinator. These two give Scourton and Phillips plenty of chances to get one on one opportunities. Brazzell, another tall receiver with sprinter speed.  Our WR room is filled with tall talented WR.  Brazzell is going to give us a WR that can take to roof off the defense.  Basically Jimmy Horn with size. W. Lee III has a nickname of the Blanket. (heard this on the Beleav podcast with J. Stewart)  What a great name.  A great value in the 5th round. Hecht A strong, fast and extremely smart center. Many had him listed as the best center in the draft.  He's most likely a starter sooner than later. Wheatley A good safety in round 5.  Someone who could see playing time.   Kuwatch  I love this pick.  At minimum he will be a key piece on special teams and with some good coaching he'll see some packages where he'll play.  His down piece is he doesn't stay up in the running game.  Good coaching will fix this.  He reminds me a bit of A.J. Klein.   All these picks were great value.  I believe everyone of them were graded higher than the pick we took them.   Dan Morgan is IMO doing a great job turning this team into a good team with great depth.
    • Moton is a class act.
    • Sure, that is possible. That’s what, an extra 55 yards a game on average and 7 more TDs? What if he’s just 15th?  I imagine they would extend him in that situation due to the belief that he’ll keep trending up. maybe a 3 year contract to prove he can be top 10? Sounds like a Tepper plan.
