Key Points

1. We are changing to an up-temp offense.

2. Bobcats are practicing with a 14 second shot clock in stead of a 24 second shot clock.

"I want to bring some energy to this ball club," Silas said after being introduced as the fourth head coach in franchise history. "I want us to get up and down and let it all hang out. If they don't want to get up and down, they can come sit down by me."

I like what Silas is doing.

Wooot.....

Excited to see how this works at least...

Yay for change.

On a side note, if they don't trade DJ... I believe he will flourish in this type of offense...but they need to get rid of Jackson imo.

Yea, I agree this change could help DJ and hopefully his fantasy stats for my fantasy team.

How bad would it suck if they trade him to an uptemp team and he goes off and then we switch to an up tempo team.

LOL, Don't you love our local Bobcats coverage.

Rick: I'm on vacation this week, so my sex slave Ron Green Jr. will be blogging between lotion applications live from my dungeon.

BITCH!!! YOU'RE ON VACATION EVERYWEEK!!!!!

I'm tired of this poo man... We have the worst local coverage out of ALL the franchises in the NBA. There was no mention made of any Jackson trade all week, then it's briefly mentioned that he was on the verge of being traded in the article on LB's firing... I'm tired of having to google and look through nat'l media excerpts for news on my local team.

Jackoffs...

That's because the Charlotte Observer is a "Cut & Paste" paper. If it's not on the AP or UPI wire, it won't make it into the Observer. You ahve to read the Rock HIll Herald or Gaston Gazette if you want local team coverage. They have actual reporters.

Silas met individually with each of the players, asked them to assess their own strengths and weaknesses, and offered a message of encouragement. He interrupted their planned holiday break by adding an early Christmas Eve practice, knowing he can’t make dramatic changes in the short time before their next game.

eh... interrupting Christmas break? a bit much but i guess they do need all the practice they can get with a new coach.

    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
