During the Q&A session, sources said, Richardson rose to his feet, held a microphone and piggy-backed on Goodell's call for unity among owners in the collective-bargaining negotiations with the players association.

For the three or four minutes Richardson spoke, multiple witnesses said he appeared to have the full attention of everyone in the room.

"He's kind of an E.F. Hutton person," said Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank. "When he talks, everyone listens."

"He's a commanding presence," said Kraft. "He's got a forceful voice. His character comes through."

Asked to summarize Richardson's key points, Kraft said: "Stay together as a unit and as a group. Remember we're a partnership and we can't go it alone. We have to remember how lucky we are to be part of this league."

One source said Richardson's speech was like listening to "an old Southern-style preacher."

"I hope the wives took it well," said New York Jets owner Woody Johnson. "He's not afraid to let it out. He's very passionate about the NFL."

I'm not sure what he is going to say for if any major announcement will be apart of his press conference. But contrary to what we as fans have seen and heard in the past, I really wish that whatever he does say, it is presented in the matter in which he did as mentioned above.

And for some reason I do believe that that is what's going to happen...

I think it's going to be a "state of the franchise" type press conference, no suprises, just more apologies and assurances that we will be competitive in '11.

it's like you read it right off the webisite. it says state of the team though.

"Hello. Good afternoon. I got lucky last night."

Then everyone will erupt in cheer, thinking he is talking about getting Andrew Luck as our #1 draft pick.

"Thank you, thank you. My wife is a beautiful woman an I smacked that ass for hours on end. It was wonderful. Speaking of beautiful, Jimmy is our quarterback going into next season."
