Harbaugh Leaning Towards NFL Per Schefter

One of the comments from that article is from a guy who says we'd be crazy to draft Luck, and bases his opinion on the "fair" play of Jimmy Clausen.

Ya gotta love fans

As to Schefter, he's been one of the prime guys pimping Harbaugh to Michigan. I doubt this is a story he wants to hear.

(but then, nothing is decided yet)

You do realise Luck would only have done marginally better if he was in this shitstorm, right?

Very possible you are correct, sir, but with a rookie starting I was expecting it to be bad... I just was looking for something, ANYTHING from Jimmy that I could hang my hope on. I didn't see it. When MM and BSP had similar situations and at least showed promise, but Cap'n Checkdown showed either nothing or complete regression, I find myself intrigued by the prospect of a Luck-type QB prospect to put this franchise on the map in terms of being competitive again. Even Freeman last year did god-awful, but in watching his games you could see a bit of "special" in him. Jimmy doesn't have the good kind of "special" Freeman showed, Jimmy is special in his own right.

How many times have they been wrong about Carolina in the national news? I'm going to guess he says it's unlikely mostly because we didn't extend Fox(which I remember last year they thought Fox would be gone before 2010 season) and if we didn't extend the greatest coach ever(national media seems to think he's lombardi) why would we pay Harbaugh. As for sources, it's probably just an agent or low level personnel..the only people who actually know are Morrison, Hurney and of course Richardson.

I'm just concerned if Harbaugh can make the leap to the NFL. I just feel like there maybe substantial growing pains and he may try to do things that may not work at the NFL level. What's his NFL coaching back ground?

player, then quaterbacks coach.

he runs a pro style offense at least...

    • Any idea what happened to him at LSU? im reading that he was considered a 1st round pick in 2023, had an off 2024 season with only 4 sacks but was also on a horrible FSU team then went to LSU where he was supposed to be on an aggressive defense that should have given him a lot of sacks but he only ended up with one….   was he injured? Did the top SEC competition expose him? What happened? Cause this guy was considered a top prospect .
    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
