Bill Cowher

Houston and New York were already out. If Miami is out too, then none of his preferred choices will be open.

Cowher, along with commanding a salary in the $7M to $8M range, would want his own personnel staff, meaning sweeping changes to the football operations side of the organization -- in essence, clearing out those brought in previously by Bill Parcells.

Those close to Cowher do not expect him to move forward with the Dolphins unless the parameters of the job change substantially.

I also seen a report quoting Cowher to not having a wish list. I still think it makes a lot of sense for him to come here. Not that I want him, just what I feel. I would be satisfied if he was here though.

I am not a huge Cowher supporter, but it sure does seem like the door is opening for him. JR, not only fires his head coach, but his entire coaching staff. That in itself, feels like JR already has a big name head coach picked out, that will bring in his entire coaching staff with him. Cowher has said previously that he wants to stay in NC to be close to his family, and would coach again if the right job came along... well that is insinuating that he would like to coach the Carolina Panthers, he has waited 4 years for this job to open up. The job is his if he wants it.. and trust me, he wants it.

I believe he already has a deal struck with JR, and it will happen very very quickly (this week). I don't think we will waste Jim Harbaugh's time.. as I believe JR has made up his mind, and will be appeasing the RR, to get the Ron Rivera interview out of the way.

Oh, and the 'short list' for Cowher, never existed. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rumors/post/Cowher-No-coaching-wish-list-exists?urn=nfl-301058
