Fair or Foul for Phil Jackson to call out Kobe??

“We get behind early on in the third quarter on some stupid plays — poor passing, poor transition defense — and then Kobe has to screw up the game and start energizing the team by going one-on-one and that takes the rest of the guys out as a consequence,” Jackson told reporters. “That didn’t bring us back in, but it did give us a little run, we got the game back a little bit but we couldn’t sustain it and we just went right back and made the same mistakes again.”

Jackson also said some nameless Lakers were, “Trying to do too much with the basketball … Teams are double-teaming, coming to help, we have to move the ball.” Jackson added, “The game got to a point where we didn’t use our strength, which is our inside players.”

Of course everyone is subject to criticisms, and Phil has been there, done that, and wrote the book. But is this fair or foul in your opinion?

Phil Jackson is just saying what anyone who has a lick of knowledge about basketball has always known. He cost the Lakers possibly 2-4 championships if not more. No reason the Lakers couldn't win before Phil got there other than Kobe going one on five in the playoffs against the Jazz. Then he ran Shaq out of town.

He's a great ball player and has plenty of rings, but I'll remember him for jacking up three pointers against the Jazz when being double teamed as much as anything else.

so what?? he was young as fug. What was Jordan doing when he was 21? playing college ball 22-23? Superstar youngster that was notorious for being a ballhog. Look at his body of work and not the playoff series when he was basically a college kid

happens almost every season...just one of Jackson's ways of inspiring his players!

guys got a closet full of rings, pretty sure none of us are in a position to question his ways!!!!!

Expect to see Kobe bear down soon and start stringing together some 30 point games.

Phil ain't no dummy.

Problem for the Lakers is this point of the season is boring as hell as the only thing to play for is Home Court. Guess what? No one in the West is going to catch San Antonio for that right. Another 40 games before any of this means anything.

Shaq ran himself out of town rolling into camp out of shape every year and looking like he spent the offseason eating Bon Bons. Management got tired of paying $20 million forthat poo and made a choice between the two.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
