off the top of my head Marvin Lewis went from DC of Baltimore to DC of Washington. they just have to have clearance.

Marvin Lewis wasn't under contract. Baltimore was OK with letting it expire, anticipating that he'd be hired by then. He wasn't. Most coaches don't let their contracts expire.

The clearance part is the critical deal. Teams occasionally let guys go for what they consider a promotion, but the NFL says any assistant is an assistant. Doesn't matter whether you're a coordinator or position coach, or assistant head coach.

Ryan, Manusky aren't under contract because their staffs have been terminated. Childress and McDaniels (whose hype is reaching critical mass) are both open to do whatever they want. Tom Clements is assumedly under contract, and they absolutely can block him.

You seem to think that because a coach's team doesn't make the playoffs/loses in the first round, the coach is willing to let everyone on his coaching staff go. If that was the case, only 1 coaching staff would remain intact every season. For some reason, I've got a hunch that that's not the case.

Notice that I didn't grab his whole team. But don't worry keep talking to yourself like your smart or something.
