Execution

So I'm snowed in tonight, bored out of my mind. I decided to get on wiki and look up "execution". I was more interested in past methods, not present day methods.

Some methods I found to be intriguing...

Stoning- still used today in Islam, but has been used for thousands of years. Involves burying the convicted subject up to the neck, and thorwing stones at their head until death.

Impaling- involves subject being forced to sit on a sharp stake (in the anus) until gravity and their own painful movements slides slowly into the victim until death. Vlad the Impaler was infamous for this...even known to feast with the dead decaying bodies.

Slow Slicing- involves making incisions in subjects body until death occured by loss of blood. There is one story of a Mongolian emporer making 15000 incisions in one subject.

All of these executions took place in the eyes of the public.

So my question for you is...Which method would you have liked to witness given you were living in Medieval Times or before?

Necklacing-Commonly practiced in South Africa, Necklacing is unfortunately still quite common today. Necklacing consists of a rubber tire, filled with gasoline, being forced around the victim's chest and arms, and then being set on fire. Necklacing essentially causes the body to be turned into a melted mess.sounds fun right

I don't really want to see anyone executed. But I think the most inhuman death would be having to read Meat's jokes until dead.

I shiver just at the thought.

you know it would be quick though...who has the tolerance?????

I'd like to take part in a stoning...think that would be fun

Another crazy method is read about was called "red wings"

Red Wings involved cutting down the back on both sides of the spine, and pulling the lungs out through the back, giving the person "red wings"!

Edit: This also required breaking open the ribs...OUCH!

I've always heard it referred to as a "blood eagle". The Norse used it.
