Game 35: Grizzlies @ Cats

Hopefully Wallace will one day dunk the basketball again. It wasn't that long ago that he had the explosiveness, there is something really wrong with his offense this season.

And I know we are hurting in the "bigs" department, but I don't think Nazr's style works with our up-tempo game. Would like to see him off the bench sparingly for help with foul trouble. Kwame looks better out there with the starters anyway, and TT and Hendo should be the first subs in.

Hats off to Livingston as well, giving great minutes off the bench. I like how aggressive he is going to the basket.

After watching that clip, he's lost a lot of explosiveness for sure. Not sure if it's age, or he don't feel the need to prove anything since making the all-star team last year, or maybe just tired of LB's system. We'll see Weds when he's back though.

he's been playing injured too long, he should keep sitting to get to full strength. team is clicking and honestly when both Jack and Wallace play, the team is just too out of control and Diaw plays worse with them. having someone like Henderson who will simply play defense and shoot open shots is what basketball is all about. you can't have a team where 4-5 guys want to spot up on a one on one play every time they touch the ball.

need motion, fluidity. be ready to shoot or pass. our turnovers have to be down with henderson starting. another thing is it forces DJ to step up and DJ is the most efficient player on our team, he can step his game up but doesn't go out of control to do it.

I had this thought too, but didn't voice it. Something tells me that we would be "okay" if we had Jack or Wallace, but both seem to be a concoction that doesn't work. If I had to choose between the two, give me the healthy Wallace over the scorer Jack. We would lose out on Jack's offense, but when Wallace is flying around the energy is up, he's better on the boards and on defense, and that can get us back to playing Bobcat's ball like before.

I would take DJ, Hendo, Crash, Diaw, and Kwame, then go to Tyrus and Livingston first off the bench. Would get UPS more minutes as well.

    • I'd rather not have Burns and draft good edge rushers. He wasn't worth the contract he got for a dude that could only rush the passer and frankly did a terrible job of it for us because whenever he did beat his blocker, he would whiff on the QB. Congrats to him for actually being able to wrap up the QB this year - it's the first time he has consistently been able to do it. The amount of teams that ran right at him while he was with us shows that teams realized he was an undersized edge and could get pushed backwards several yards on run plays. Having Dexter Lawrence next to you helps mask that problem
    • I mean, some of y'all keep on saying that, but the fact is is that he is the only Giant feasting. Burns is just better than many of us thought, myself included. Sometimes it just takes guys time to get to the top of their game, that's why I'm going to give our rookies a lot of grace. It might be a couple of years before they hit their stride (though it didn't take Burns that long). But I have been disappointed. Moreover, I suspect that they all might benefit by migrating to  a 4-3 base.  But Burns is what he is. It was ultimately bad timing IMO. After Scott Fitterer failed to take the two firsts, things were destined to go downhill. I think we should've kept Clowney for another year or so more than Burns, but it's all been fûcked up anyway, so nobody was probably going to make that much of a difference.
