All you dudes are in love with a j green and yeah he would be great to have but only a fool would pick him in our situation. I'm just sayin if he was even close to being a viable need we would pick him right? I trust our management and they typically draft well outside of the armanti move. We ain't picking green "son"

so i guess everett brown was a good move eh?

only to get outplayed by charles johnson and greg hardy

Rodeo lost credibility with the clausen comment. Mayock said clausen was top ten talent

he predicted that The Golden Calf of Bristol will be taken in the 1st round and Clausen will drop to the second. he said Clausen has potential but lacks the intangibles to be a great QB.

you have absolutely failed with every one of your posts in this thread.

So bleys is skirting the question by saying "I think he is the best choice" and this Daniels dude who put his fat out of shape photo as his profile pic is a puss all together and will not even man up. What a clown. You know what the smart pick is but you have your emotional choice of green but you want stand by it and go in record and say he will go #1. I will even say he will not go #1 even if we trade the pick

I think it's the best choice if we can't trade down because we can pick a DT in FA who will have an immediate impact. Fairley won't have an immediate impact, there is data that proves this..

The DT market isn't nearly as good as you all are trying to make it seem. Most of the good DT's that are FA's will be re-signed. Also, there is NO data that prove that Fairley won't have an immediate impact...unless you're saying that you have data which predicts the future? Lastly, please show us all the data which shows that AJ Green will have an immediate impact despite the fact that WR's usually take a couple seasons to break out and the fact that we still don't have a good QB to deliver him the ball?

NEW YORK — We watched 15 picks come and go in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft before hearing the name Jimmy Clausen.

Then, with the No. 48 pick the Panthers handed in their draft card with his name, ending Clausen’s wait. We had been speculating on Clausen’s fate since the mid-first round, so our wait is over, too. We didn’t see any teams trade up for Clausen, and we found out they didn’t have to.

Here’s instant analysis from Mike Mayock:

“Clausen can make all the NFL throws, and what I think hurt him are the intangibles,” Mayock offered. “In my opinion, and*I can’t underscore this enough,*I think he’s a top-10 player [in talent]. Down the road in a couple of years, we’re going to find out.*I think he’s NFL-ready. He’s going to compete with Matt Moore immediately.”

Brian Billick also pointed out that there might not be a better spot for Clausen, as the Panthers have two elements in place — a solid offensive line and strong running game — that can benefit a rookie QB. The only other QB on the Panthers’ roster is second-year pro Hunter Cantwell.

NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora nailed it earlier Friday when he suggested that picks No. 48 (Panthers) or 49 (49ers) could be the floor for the QBs.

Only 1 guy had the balls to say we will draft green. What about the rest of you. Answer the question. Do you think we will draft green?

This is a poll that states who would you draft so I voted I would draft Green.

I wanna know who thinks it? Put yourself out there so you look like clowns on draft day

I'm not sure yet wait till the combine workouts and if I see a blazing 40 time along with his body of work I'll put myself out there. I don't know how that is gonna make anyone look like a clown how many times do people make incorrect mock drafts I read them all and everyone gets it wrong homie. I don't ever see someone going oh your wrong you look like a clown man let's be real.

Fairley, and it really is a no brainer.

Green should be the pick IF, and only if, we lose Smith this offseason

Why must we loose a top notch playmaker to gain one?? We cant have multiple weapons on the field at one time THE FOX ERA IS OVER stop limiting your self to these silly notions we are looking improve a major area of weakness offense. Our defense is not that bad with these no name DT's. If you want to sustain a winning team you have to build for the future also with AJ we could be set for years to come even after Smith with top notch performers.

Impoved offense is a need more than improved defense ''son'' your funny dude

Mayock is usually extremely accurate. hands down the best draft analyst, pretty much the only trustworthy one.

he says Fairley sucks, basically. he dominates now because he's a "man amongst boys." he has a terrible worth ethic, horrible stance, and will be a bust in the NFL.

Mayock was dead on about Beason, Clausen, and just about all of our other picks over the past several years.

i agree with this

Rodeo lost credibility with the clausen comment. Mayock said clausen was top ten talent

http://nflmocks.com/2010/01/23/mike-mayock-ndamukong-suh-and-gerald-mccoy-are-by-far-the-two-best-players/

There is also talk about the Rams looking for a quarterback with their first-overall selection. When asked about the possibility of a quarterback climbing to the top pick, Mayock said the move was unlikely.

“I think it’s a big reach,” Mayock said. “The logical guy is (Oklahoma’s Sam) Bradford. I’m not a big (Jimmy) Clausen fan. No way in the world in my mind -that’s today, I’ve still got a lot more work to do on Bradford. Those two players (Suh and McCoy) just dwarf the quarterback issue.”

You do realize this is a poll that has like 80 people voting for green, more than fairley

Finally someone with a brain

    • It is all confusing and layered. SB is the cash you get very soon within weeks or in simple terms, its what you get to sign the paper work. Players and agents can agree on contract but what to "wait" to sign......teams don't like that cause you can "Carlos Boozer" yourself. In order to get that ink dry, while keeping the contract the same, portion it as a bonus to "sign" and get the funds with ________ .   * But Ive seen worded contracts that split the SB or a 20% to a later date. The beans counters can fill in the details about why certain dates are better and save the team money.. Theres tricks to the trade and accounting is full of them.    Ugh another big layer, is SB can be used to manipulate cap and players. Ill try to give a example that makes enough sense. Believe it or not having a owner like Tepper is a cheat code for this. He has cash in hand, where as Mark Davis had problem making pay roll and had to move the team to Vegas....... Tepper can give you 100,000,000 SB right now and the team can spread out the cap hit. Another owner doesn't have or want to give the player 100,000,000 in cash, but offered the same guaranteed contract in roster bonuses fully guaranteed over the next few years........ Which one do you want??? Everyone wants the money now, not before another inflation waves hits in 2 years. So it does 'pay" to have a owner like tepper that's able to have real cash on hand, while it also works GREAT for cap help. Heres a good video, if you can stand coked up pat and mask look-a-like AJ
    • I don't know. CMC is like others and may have lip serviced that line of " I had no plan or wanted to leave Carolina" I think he even said he bought a house too and wanted this to be home.   Here's what I heard- In a way Panthers org gave him a test and he didn't "fight" back. They approached CMC and told him they wanted to put him on IR since the "season" was over or out of playoff reach. CMC didn't fight it one lick and agreed. They secretly wanted him to kept playing or want to, but there was no kickback. I honestly don't know if its real or not, 5th hand information type deal doing on. Yes he had bruises and pains, but was able to play...... but went along with Panthers staff. Odd to be playing games with star players, but whatever....   Plus the staff doctors found out about his tendinitis and there was nothing to fix it. Even with him missing time, it was the best move to trade him before he got inflamed constantly.    Lastly, its mostly time a combo of stuff, Fitterererere did not sign him to be the highest paid RB. That was classic Marty "give me a" herniay doing. GMs have different values on roster spots and rumor was Fitterererer was one that didn't want to pay RBs. For all his faults, he's right about that......
