Pat Yasinskas on Cam Newton: Go get him.

Lol nothing can be indicative of his consistency...great. So from now until the draft in 3 months how much more is he going to regress that won't be indicative of him?

He forgot how to take a drop back in a month and a half off? Is that what you are saying? By that logic, when he gets drafted he'll be even more of a project than when he played in his last game.

I understand rust and stuff but your footwork shouldn't get rusty since you practice it everyday and game speed has nothing to do with it.

Go watch the SEC game. We can talk some more then.

I can see the OP still doesn't realize that the title is a bold faced lie

He says "If they think Newton can be a franchise quarterback, they need to ignore the current rankings and go get him."

How is that a lie?

I couldn't put the WHOLE sentence in the subject, and it conveys what he's saying. Which is, ignore the rankings, ignore the experts, and draft him since we need a QB, if they think he can do it.

He didn't JUST say go get him. Which is what the title says. That makes it a lie. He isn't saying, go get him Carolina!!! If we think hes a franchise QB, then we take him, which is nothing new. If we think AJ Green is the top prospect or Fairley is a the best prospect, we take them.

So Pat says "go get him" if we think he's capable, because we need a QB, and my subject is somehow a lie?

Look, if you people can't take the time to read a posted article or comprehend it, that's not my problem. Accusing me of lying is childish.

If you don't like the subject, report it to a mod, they can change it if they agree. I think it sums up his point accurately though, and he did say "go get him" verbatim.

Dude, don't play dumb with me. no one is stupid. You enlarged the second half of the sentence, and completely ignored the first, and i know you read it. Im done arguing about it, because you know what you did.

WTF? What exactly do you think I did?

I'll tell you what I intended... it was to quote him verbatim. I highlighted the relevant part of the last sentence, as it's a foregone conclusion that the Front Office would have to see talent in Newton to draft him.

So then why the fug is this news?

Put it in another god damn thread and STFU

Let me help you out...you and KT are the only people that think he we should draft Cam. It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with skill set. No QB is worth #1. Unless we are magically able to trade out of a pick that no one wants we will not be drafting him, OK?

    • It puts more pressure on being right, I always feel trading back is the move 97/100 times. There are times where you fall in love and if that guy is only 7 spots away and the cost is only a 6th or pick swap......why not?? so long the cost is low, Im more willing to do so.  Still one of the best teams at trading back and they torn apart the Panthers on those trades; Pats. You still have to pick the players, that's what happens. In theory you should also add picks, but it does get to point of eight 3rd rounders or two late 1st and a 2nd?? I mean every draft is different, so the talent maybe not fall off a cliff after pick 50. Case by case deal, but vastly I prefer to trade back.....another curve if you trade back and the scouts/coaches have not planned for it. You have to be ready and know the spot you are trading too (everyone). Just like trading out of 1st round two weeks before the draft, that hurts your team as they have been focused on pick 10 and now its wait until pick 42....

    • IDK, just I know these mock drafts are time "wasters" and even more before FA cause that does change a huge portion of the needs. I think Panthers are in on Lloyd, but just like Milton Williams if the numbers get too high they will change course and still sign one of the lesser ILB. I've also seen reports Panthers want boom back as well, but as STer/backup.   Personally Ive put Wallance in the Ickey, Brooks zone....... Acting like he's not on the team and if he shows out during OTAs, mini, and TC GREEEAT!!! I feel Panthers need to sign at least one and draft 1-2....hell even add another Bam-like UDFA in the UD pool too. Trade is on the table, there have been many trades than past years......   Given the team history, the LB corp is saddest ever. Still the league isnt paying ILB and Panthers finally got with that trend. I do feel Evero wants a IBL that can blitz and everyone wants one able to pass cover.  I feel no matter what, Panthers will draft one in the mid rounds and add a couple in the UDFA class.
