'08 Panther vs '10 Falcons - Worse Playoff Lost Poll

I think they were a lot more hyped than we were. plus they were the #1 seed.

both losses were pretty damn embarrassing. unfortunately our loss pretty much dismantled our team and set us back years. we'll have to wait and see what this loss means for the Falcons later on.

Yeah that loss was the beginning of Pep not wanting to be here anymore. Other than Tony G. retiring I don't see them breaking that team up.

I actually feel like this kind of loss is more devastating than a 2-14 season. You get the #1 overall seed in the playoffs only to get disrespected by the national media in the lead-up to the game and then you get crushed at home where the other team's fans drown out your own fans the entire second half.

Man, a part of me keeps laughing and another part feels uncomfortable even watching that last quarter.

Falcons for one simple reason: They had their home stadium taken over by fans of the opposing team where you could hear their chants and mocking throughout the entire second half. I'm embarrassed for them.

lol

I take it you don't go to BOA stadium all that much.

Were you there at the AZ game? It was pretty much like you just described this game.

Had to vote 08 Panthers. I felt that it was more self-inflicted. The Packers offense was much more dominant against ATL than Arizona was against us. The constant turnovers kept them on a short field, and no one felt that putting better coverage on Fitzgerald was a good idea.

Atlanta still shat the bed tonight, picking a bad day to have a bad day. lol

    • The same folks crying about the OL right now were crying about it in 2023 too. We have tied up over 100 million dollars in two interior olinemen alone. We've invested multiple first and second round picks in the offense. We hired an offensive minded head coach. This is an offensive team. The offense needs to produce or people need to be replaced.
    • This is the same place that has ridiculed and blasted Caleb Williams at every opportunity he has his team sitting at 10-4 in the same NFC that the Panthers are competing in. And their division in the NFC North is as or more competitive as our division. Yet from the same people who have very high standards for Williams we get every excuse imaginable for the smallest starting QB in the league even when he and his team continue to disappoint when the pressure is on. You lot aren't any less inconsistent than anyone else.
    • The Panthers are 9th in cap spent on offense this year.  However next season is already a different story  The Panthers as it stands right now will be 18th in cap spent on offense and 8th in cap spent on defense  The Panthers are currently set to spend more on defense next year than they are on offense this season Guys like Jaycee and Moehrig cap numbers take a big jump. Wharton has a massive cap hit   Jaycee Moehrig and Wharton in 2025 The same 3 in 2026 So this same defense as it stands right now will cost more in 2026 than this offense does right now… Got anything else you want to try?
