How I would handle the 1st pick

That is the problem in my logic. But every year, teams fall in love with players for no appearant reason. (See all of Oaklands drafts) Maybe someone will grade Green, Newton, or one of the D-line folks higher than we do?

I don't see it as possible that any other team would have a need greater than the worst team in the league, or at least great enough to propose a trade.

With Luck, maybe. As it stands, no.

But if you watch free agency and the draft you usually find teams willing to trade away the future for immediate gratification. New England usually takes advantage of this every year. This years draft pick is worth 2 of equal value the next year. Maybe we can find a team that thinks they are one player away from a super bowl run and take advantage of that fact.

We know we are building. We know its going to be 2 or 3 years befor we are a competitor again. why not take advantage of these teams that need to improve now, and invest in the 2012 draft (Which will have much more talent from what I have seen)

We've been a team willing to trade away to future for the current for the last three years. I don't think we're in a posistion to "take advantage" of any other team, especially considering that the future looks better than the present.

Honestly, with the inflated rates that 1st round draft picks get paid, especially when you consider that they are untested talent. You would be crazy not to constantly trade away your 1st round pick. I think the league needs a rookie salary cap.

Actually I got married and my wife managed the victoria secret in Wilmington, just made more sense for me to move. Plus ECU was nothing but a distraction. Loved the school, couldn't, for the life of me, make it to all my classes. But sadly if my GRE goes well in a few weeks we will be heading to the worst football college in the SEC next year. Vandy

what are you doing? Fiz is f**king with you and now you have put a target on your back the next time you post.

Damn didn't mean to use the word target....poo! did it again.

Again, that depends on someone holding a more favorable view of the 1st overall than you do.

As for rookie salary cap, that's a different discussion altogether and I'm not getting into that tonight.

I was just talking poo to Fiz as he ignores me as usual. One day I'll piss him off enough for a response lol. Should take it easy though on the new people and posters in general, just ignore the threads I know you know you should to prevent your assholiness coming out. If you can learn to control your assholiness a little more you can get laid more often and it won't cost any money and that will keep you from taking out all the sexual frustrations on huddle n00bs and redundant thread starters.

Just ignore it all and post away, you get a few answers that you might deem worth reading.

    • Me, signing up for FanDuel Network, and then canceling FanDuel Network:
    • Smith-Wade for me. He has the path to some decent hefty snaps in Evero’s scheme. He held his own last year and improved as he continued to get snaps— If he makes some strides, could be a very capable nickel.  I agree with Sanders. Bryce had some trust in him that final Falcons game post crazy head-stand.  Bryce looked for him a lot that final game and made some critical catches to get us the W. Seems he’s put in major work so I’m hopeful about him.  Wallace will have an offseason under his belt. I like him a lot, was higher graded than most remember in his draft (I.e Brugler had him LB3/70 overall) but he isn’t as cerebral of an LB as we’re used to. I think he could thrive if we get D captain/film-junky type next to him— because right now that’s Jewell.  Still a bit cautious but love the talent. Rozeboom may snag some playing time from him if he’s still working out the kinks.
    • Didnt Canales already say starters are playing in the pre season? either way extra reps dont hurt but im not one of those people that think playing in the pre season would have saved Bryce from an awful start.
