any other qbs shula has worked with?

Shula finished with a 26-23 mark in four seasons at Alabama and led the Crimson Tide to three consecutive bowl games including a 10-2 mark and an invitation to the Cotton Bowl in 2005. Shula played a major role in the development of quarterback Brodie Croyle, who holds the school's career records for pass attempts, completions and yards. He set the school's single-season record with 2,499 passing yards in 2005 and was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round of the 2006 draft.

Prior to becoming a head coach, Shula spent three seasons as quarterbacks coach for the Miami Dolphins from 2000-02 under Dave Wannstedt. It was Shula's second stint with Miami as he previously spent two years (1991-92) as a Dolphins assistant. Quarterback Jay Fiedler compiled a 21-10 record as a starter during Shula's tenure as Miami's quarterbacks coach. Fiedler became just the second quarterback in team history to surpass the 3,000-yard passing mark in 2002. He finished with a 60.7 completion percentage, the highest by a Dolphin since 1995.

Shula served four seasons as offensive coordinator with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1996-99 under head coach Tony Dungy. The Buccaneers qualified for the playoffs in two of Shula's four seasons and in 1999 won the NFC Central Division and reached the NFC Championship game.

Shula began his NFL coaching career as offensive assistant for the Buccaneers from 1988-89 and spent the 1990 season as quarterbacks coach. He also spent time as tight ends coach for the Chicago Bears under Wannstedt from 1993-95.

We don't need a mere mortal to coach up our stable of QBs. We need somebody or something with god like powers, or a magical rock from another universe. Any of those type beings available?

I lived in Miami when The Fiedler was QBing the Dolphins. My wife had season tickets so I saw him play in a lot of games in person. Fiedler was a less goofy Delhomme. If we coach one of our QBs up to the Fiedler standard, I will be disappointed.

    • The coaches can't figure out what to do with BY9 much less Leggette
    • There is a lot of talk about his IQ and his commitment to the game and this and that and no one can firmly say one way or another unless they are with him day to day. Not to mention the standards don't jive with the presented reasoning for defending Bryce Young’s rookie season and subsequent beginning of his sophomore season and third season to where we are now 40+ games as he is finally beginning to string together better QB play. When I think of Legette present day I think back to Ted Ginn being a pretty significant bust with the Dolphins as a 9th overall pick and then coming to Carolina (twice) and still struggling with the same mental errors on the field and Cam Newton going back to him again and again and again and even going to a Super Bowl with him as the #1 WR. Deactivating him is weak. Figure something out to his strengths for the rest of the season and reassess in the offseason.
    • I think the season has been a success.  I try to look back at what I said would be a successful season before week 1 and we have reached that.  The success though has you wanting more haha.  But we've had improvements and are right there fighting.  Bryce has improved which was a big thing we needed.  Hope we improves more obviously.  But I agree with others about Evero, unless we have an offense putting up 30 points a game I don't like this type of defense he has.  No pressure either.  The biggest issues I see with this team are, zero pressure on the QB, soft zones, and the horrible special teams play on kickoffs/return coverage.  So I wouldn't mind replacing Evero if someone better is available and definitely get someone new running special teams.  When you combine Evero's defense and the fact we allow teams such good field position often it's a bad match.  Overall, we have won 8 games which is crazy.
