Battlefield 3 out Fall 2011

on second thought, the introduction of prone into the game has totally changed the way its played. 75% of the time my kill cam shows a sniper laying prone on top of a building, mountain, scaffolding, etc... highly overused. Kind of takes it down a notch for me

All you chuckleheads did was complain that you couldn't go prone in BF:BC2. Clearly the developers heard you, and now you're reaping it.

Pretty soon you're all gonna be saying what I was saying 2 years ago; crouching only keeps gameplay fast and fierce; prone is for campers and kill farming noobs. I was glad they left it out of BF:BC2. If this thing starts to play like MW2, I'm burning my copy tonight.

That's true...but I think with a lot of the other features, it will not play like MW2 or Black Ops. These maps are so big, you can sit (or lay prone) during the whole game and not see someone for a long time.

I didn't play BF2, but I still hate that you can prone. I never prone in CoD. That's like the only challenges I didn't finish on those games is the prone kill challenges. Wish they kept it like that.

I have a really strong feeling I won't be able to play tonight after work, I'm sure the servers will be down. If we can't have a good gaming experience by tomorrow, it is going to look terribly bad on EA's part (even worse than it already does). CoD players that gave this a chance are already regretting it and ready for MW3 to drop (and trading this in). Multiply that 10 fold in 2 days if they can't get on and game. I promise those CoD players, the 20-30% of market base they wanted to get, will never buy another BF3 game if this happens. Sad.

What was the point of beta if they can't have servers working on launch day? 8 million people played beta, so I don't understand why they didn't get enough testing in to see how they'd handle it.

You can't count out the fact someone could have been trying to hack them on release day

CoD and BFservers probably get hacked all the time. That's not what's going on. It's either server load or, what I think, something messed up in the EA authentication process to their servers.

nah, the "on second thought" was in addition to my post above. NEVER liked prone... hated that poo in Black Ops too

    • I'd love to have Eli as our QB. He was a proven baller in the playoffs, and still a legit franchise QB who was better than the majority of the league in the regular season. Honestly the Giants didn't build many great teams around him. Put him in a beneficial situation like Belichick, Reid, Tomlin, etc. run and he could've won more than 2 SBs if you ask me. He was on a lot of bad teams, like really bad teams, throughout his career.   Hell, swap him in for Rivers in the mid-late aughts and I bet he gets the Chargers a SB. Still think that whole draft situation was bullshit and lost respect for Eli there, but whatever.
    • Yeah but if you are talking about something like an extremely rarely used or needed play like a QB sneak, it's already a pretty off the rails argument. That doesn't factor in enough to W's and L's to be something that is particularly relevant.  If you want to talk overall arm strength, field vision, footwork, consistency, athleticism, etc on Bryce, those are all valid critiques of his game and why he hasn't been successful. But the oddball obsessions about pretty meaningless aspects are a bit bizarre. QB sneaks? Not enough 40+ yard passes? Workout regimen?? Guys....there is ample stuff to criticize without this kind of nonsense.
    • Im not saying he should, but its one more play that's off the table. Do you think the eagles would be as good without the QB sneak?
