Ken Berger of CBSSports.com reports...

It's Joel Przybilla and two first-round picks to Charlotte for Wallace, source says. Player is Cunningham to Bobcats.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports now reports...

Ken Berger has picks right going to Charlotte for Wallace. I can't read a text message: Two future first-rounders for Wallace.

Przybilla for Wallace straight up doesn't match salary-wise so there will need to be another player(s) involved.

David Aldridge of NBA.com notes this fact as well...

Bobcats will get another player in addition to Przybilla and picks for Wallace... Player is [Dante] Cunningham to Bobcats.

Ken Berger of CBSSports.com confirms this as the package...

Source confirms Bobcats also get Dante Cunningham in Wallace deal, plus Przybilla and two firsts.

This post will update as news comes in.

According to multiple reports, and after days of rumors, the Portland Trail Blazers have traded center Joel Przybilla, forward Dante Cunningham and two first round picks to the Charlotte Bobcats for forward Gerald Wallace.

Wallace, a versatile and defensive-minded 28 year old forward, is averaging 15.6 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.0 blocks in 39 minutes per game. Wallace has been a member of the Bobcats since the 2004-2005 season. He attended the University of Alabama.

Wallace is on the books for $10.5 million this year and next year, and has a player option for the same amount in 2012-2013, according to StoryTellersContracts.com. The Blazers take on roughly $2.3 million in this deal, going further into luxury tax territory.

Przybilla's contract expires this season and he has mentioned the possibility of a buyout and/or retirement. Cunningham is on the second and final year of his second round draft pick rookie deal. Both will be free agents this summer.

I can't believe people hate this trade. What is it that you hate? Did you really think we were going places this year?!?!! Seriously, I'm at a loss for words.

8th place in the East still gets in the playoffs.

You can thank us later, Philly.

think some people freaked out a little prematurely:

Silas: Bobcats aren't dealing

"What was reported what we were going to get back, it didn't make sense," Silas said.

http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2011/02/24/2088609/silas-bobcats-arent-dealing.html

MJ has been a bone head in the past but I think he is too competitive to unreasonably cripple this team in the short or long term. These tweets and rumors really didnt make any sense. Glad Silas confirmed that.

Yea.... He confirmed it all right

It doesn't get more awesome than this.

Gerald Wallace: "I've been committed (to Charlotte) since I got here. I owe the city. The city doesn't owe me anything. I was given the opportunity to showcase my skills in Charlotte and I'm trying to do everything I can do to help the team win and get to the playoffs."

Sad, I do hate to see G-Force go, But I agree with the move. Still a bitter sweet day. This is the type of move that can help us get out of this cycle of mediocrity.

NBA fans attach emotions to players and fail to understand the business of the game. There are similar threads about DeAngelo in the Panthers section.

The fact is that Crash has crashed and looks to have slowed a LOT. To be able to move him for an expiring, a promising youngster, and 2 first round picks is as good as it can be for the Bobs.

The Nazr deal--- still don't quite understand.

    • Saw this show up in my new feed. Nice to see a couple of our rookies making it into the top 5 so far, even if it is a pff measure... From https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-top-15-rookies-week-9-2025 ... 4. TE Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers (78.7) Evans struggled in the Panthers’ tight win over the Packers, finishing with a 41.8 PFF overall grade — third worst among tight ends this week. He was not targeted in the game and played only one snap in pass protection. He did log 15 run-blocking snaps, and although he earned a 68.9 PFF run-blocking grade in zone looks (seven snaps), his 39.0 mark in gap schemes (second worst for the week) dragged him down to a 46.6 PFF run-blocking grade overall — sixth worst for the week. Despite seeing zero targets over his past two games, Evans still leads the Carolina tight end group with a 74.3 PFF receiving grade. He has caught all nine of his targets for 90 yards, six first downs and two touchdowns. Evans also leads the Panthers’ tight end group in PFF run-blocking grade (72.2). He has recorded a 20.5% positive play rate across 175 snaps.  5. WR Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers (78.6) McMillan had a better day against the Packers, recording four catches for 46 yards. Most of that production came in the first quarter via two 16-yard catches — one of which he snatched from Carrington Valentine’s hands, who was in perfect position to break up the pass. McMillan accounted for three first downs on the day, although Green Bay was able to limit his impact after the catch, holding him to 0.8 yards after the catch per reception. McMillan now has 41 catches for 558 yards — a top-15 mark. He is also tied for second with 19 explosive gains of 15-plus yards. Three of McMillan’s catches against the Packers came between the numbers, bringing him to 22 for 318 yards and 19 first downs (tied for second most) this season. He owns a 26.1% threat rate and a 76.6 PFF receiving grade between the numbers. He also ranks in the top 10 in explosive gains (10) and yards after the catch per reception (5.5) within that area of the field.
    • At least we don't need to hear overreacting about towels ...
    • Actually there is, try being a Charlotte Hornets fan. I mean the team fuging moved at its peak and hasn't recovered since and that was 25 years ago
