Yeah, they are a fuged-up abomination of a franchise and always have been. They came into existence to thwart the further expansion of the AFL. Blank is probably better than the previous owner Rankin Smith/Taylor Smith, but only because he is willing and able to spend. They still manage to make a mess out of whatever they have in front of them. The fanbase are more like battered spouses in an abusive relationship.

It ain’t that important to me to verify and substantiate, but I think I heard at the time that Blank was blindsided and pissed.  
I want to say there was a meeting where they explained themselves to Blank that very night.
