PP is a better CB than Dareus is a DT, I'd rather take PP and use the 2nd on one on a TE or DT.

Dareus was a beast, even playing on a high ankle sprain and then blew up the combine. 3 year starter, winner and can play every spot on the line.

Games are won and lost at the LOS and our CB's and entire D gets better with a good DT.

I dont think marshall comes back since well he said the panthers dont want him. In that draft there was also troy aikman, derrick thomas, and Barry sanders.

I agree on the Marshall point.

We've seen the last of him. I hope he walks and signs a decent contract so we get a comp pick.

Let me clarify my position too- I love Peterson and I think he's a stud at CB and KR, but my belief is that you build from the inside out and in our division the QB's can't hurt you as bad with a limited run game and no time to throw.

By virtue of that your CB's benefit hugely not having to cover for as long and can be more aggressive.

I want to get back to the days of a dominant front four.

Luckily for us this draft is deep at DT and CB.

I agree that few corners are worth a number 1 pick especially when there are also very good ones available later in the draft. I think that defensive line has to be a priority for us if we don't go QB with number 1. I would be happy with Fairley, Dareus, Bowers or Green. If Anderson does his foot surgery and says Julio Jones will be healthy before training camp I would take him as well. I wonder if he can return kicks as well?? Running a 4.39 on a messed up foot is unbelievable.

With him and Smith as bookends, our wide receivers would tear up anyone including the Jets. He is bigger faster and stronger than Revis.

    • Does this mean only topics from within the last year or any topics with posts from the last year? i.e. if there are any old threads we feel should be kept around for whatever reasons, would a bump of that thread before the update ensure it's kept around in full or do the posts from more than a year old still disappear?
    • I'm more intrigued at him becoming our future LG. There were some people who thought he was better suited to be a guard in the NFL to begin with.  Then if Freeling ends up being a legit LT, moving Ickey to LG could give us an incredibly strong left side of our OL for years to come. Ickey has only played on the Left side his whole career, both in college and the NFL, so I just wonder if keeping him on the left side, even if shifting inside, would be better than putting him outside on the right side. Just hoping him growing up a Panthers fan will make him want to stay here and move positions than enter FA so he can stay at LT somewhere else, particularly since LT is the big money position on the OL, so he likely can get paid more by someone else to play LT than play LG or RT here for us.
