GF has a modeling runway show tonight she had to sell tickets for. I bought one for $20. The show is at the gayest club in Austin (advertised as "the only gay nightclub in Austin"). This doesn't bother me that much besides the fact that I won't know anyone else there to hang with.

Was planning on going until I got a call from a musician I'm working with who wants to do a little recording tonight. Probably make $20-$30 (enough to pay for not going). Do you think I should still go, and she'd understand? Or am I obligated?

biscuit raises a valid point......

you should be able to tell by how she responds whether it's a big deal if you miss it. If doing that recording has added benefits, like getting your name out there and it's not a big deal that you miss her event, she should understand. if it's a really big deal that you go support her, make the sacrifice..

not really a huge decision here.. ;)

I will go out on a limb and say you prob'ly should support her, unless of course she doesn't care.

Example of how conversation will probably go:

You: So, do you really want me to be there tonight?

Her: Well, I do. But only if you want to be there. I mean, I'd like you to. But I don't want you to feel forced. Of course, I was under the understanding you would probably come. If you don't come, I understand. But I thought you loved me. I really want you to, but if you think this recording thing is more important than ME, by all means go do that. Just know that I won't be mad at all. Just a little disappointed. But I will be ok. You do what you want.

Of course, that is assuming she is an average female. :rolleyes:

Hey I'm married with kids... not gonna happen. I rely on young guys like u to do my evil bidding. :ihih: so go forth and take pics, they don't have to be models...

Plus don't u want to get me a nice birfday present?

lol.. I think the first sentence or 2 is accurate anyhow..

basically, if recording is very important, she should understand unless this event is a BIG deal. if recording won't have a huge impact, then go to the event and support her.

I wouldn't blow off the event just because... recording needs to be a bigger deal than the event to consider it.

Nah recording isn't a big deal...I think I just don't want to go to a gay club alone

      I wonder if they'd consider trading Rasheed Walker to a team that needs tackle help but missed out in the draft?

      LOL. This is such a Panthers fan take.  Anyone who falls to us must suck because some other team didn't take them before.  We got lucky with Lemon, Thieneman, and Freeling all falling to us (honestly any of the three is a A+) but the WR and S positions are much deeper than the LT position in this draft.  We got the LT w/ the most upside at 19.  Mauigoa played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the nfl.  Spano played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the NFL due to short arms.  Blake Miller played RT in college and is not as good as Freeling.  Proctor is a true LT but his ability to handle quick edge's worries me (see Icky).  Freeling is a true LT and a gifted pass protector.  Many think he has a very high ceiling and will benefit from not having to start right away.  This is how you build a franchise.

      After watching Cam get killed for years behind a bad Oline and having to watch the 2021 and 2023 Olines I will never complain about this team putting resources into that spot.  We got a true LT who could really push Rasheed Walker for the day 1 job. Go back and watch Iceky's draft profile from 2022 and all the talk was Ickey would be an all-pro guard in a zone blocking scheme, but he could play LT in a gap power run scheme. That's why Ickey looked really good when Wilks took over and we just started running gap run plays and just mauled people up front but under Canales we've been more of a zone running team. Ickey can survive at LT with his pass blocking but his true strength will always be his ability to just move guys in the run game and that's a skill set that's better used at guard.  Take another OT later on day 3 to learn from Moton to take over RT in a couple of years and let Walker and Freeling battle it out for the day 1 LT job then next offseason trade one of Hunt of Lewis and let Ickey move inside to guard.
