I got accepted to CPCC....but oh yeah..

So we have this program in s chool where you have you fill out college applications, for no other reason than to be doing it, but the application fee was free, so I did a couple, the school sent my transcipt, and a few weeks later (a few days ag) I got a letter in the mail saying I was accepted. I enlisted in DEP like 8 months ago and the plan was to get enough online credits while I was in the Army to go straight to a year school when I got out. MY career path is fuged up.......long story. AnywayAfter the Army I was going to either go there or ECU, but....my gut is telling me to just go to Charlotte, do the two years, then transfer to a University. My brain is telling me jut go these 4 years in the Army, then go to college after that. I had never planned to go to Military, the plan was to go to college, the Army just sort of happened....I thought about it, and thought about it, and thought I had made the right decision. Actually I thought it was the only decesion. I didn't realize getting into a Community College was that easy. If I had taken another spanish I could have gone straight to Carolina and called it a day. idk...advice would be helpful....even from you people..

My daughter goes to CPCC.

Good points: It's close and it's cheap

Bad points: All she learns is what's in the books.

I knew I was going in the Navy from about 6th grade - I wanted to "see the world" but really, what you get is a lot of experience with the real world, what's difficult for you and what's not, etc - you will find that once you leave the service and go to college it will

a) be a cakewalk

b) you will excel

c) you will not be as into the party scene and other distractions, because you will know what you want and how to get it.

Read your story twice. Still can't tell if you have been in the Army or going into the Army. Simple judgement on your writing errors tells me you'll want the military experience if you want a shot at acceptance into UNC, unless you are 6'10" with a 40" vertical.

If you have already done the military, apply to UNC and see if you get in. If not go to CPCC make sure you ace everything for a year and do a poo ton of community service. Then that and your military background should get you in...hopefully.

Since you're in DEP, you can still opt out, no harm done. It seems to me that while you want to go Army, you're not that committed. Not to discourage you, but if you have any reservations about the military, don't do it - atleast for now.

You could also go Reserve or National Guard. I'm still learning a lot of the differences between active and reserve, but the reserves do have tuition assistance. But I'm not sure of all the details.

    • I think you have to factor in that we're still not an attractive proposition for Head Coaches. You're not getting the cream of the crop if you fire Canales a year after winning the NFC South, especially considering the situation he walked into.
    • Yeah, I was about to say I hope he's doing okay health-wise because he's not looking good in that pic.
    • Honestly, I dont  think he should be on the hot seat yet. A bad start to next year, then yes. Despite our mistakes on play calling this past season, we played better than anticipated overall. Bryce showed improvement and maturity (although still not nowhere close to our expectations). Better record and 2-15 to 5-12 to 8-9. Despite what we feel the stats dont lie we are improving by 3 wins a year. Could 11-6 be our expectation. That's a high bar but at the rate we are going, thats what its looking like. We all want to see a 5-12 to a 13-4 record but we are methodically moving up. Success doesnt happen overnight (well in most cases).  IMO we are struggling mostly on the defensive end. LB and edge are our biggest weakness. I see Bryce making improvements (even though I was a Bryce hater) next year. Biggest concern is LT on offense. How to fix this? We need a big name edge or to trade up and get a big name edge or LB and pick up one in FA and draft one. Also if in the 3rd we can pick up a TE. Dont know if Sanders is the answer or Tremble (even though I love Trembles blocking and power after the catch). If these two can get their footwork together they would be great. Maybe all they need is a better TE coach. And if Brooks can stay healthy and be the back we thought he could be, man that would be great
