guys there is literally a 0% chance that gabbert will be any good

I get that he's got great features. I get that he's got great potential. I also get that he's slightly more athletic than Gabbert. I also get that he's a better passer, and more average intelligence than VY was coming out of college. I also get that he's slower than Vick but stronger.

But when I add all that together, I see great potential... but I don't see a likely scenario where he revolutionizes the game. Is it possible? Sure. Just like it's possible Gabbert does it. Or Locker. None of them have half the chance to do it that Vick does and he still hasn't managed to yet... and what's more likely is just that the game slowly changes, due not to a single player or a single anything, but just the gradual change of more big guys being extremely athletic, too... on both sides of the ball.

You can pretty much say any of the athletic QBs in this draft are unique when you mince it down enough.

I know Gabbert and Locker had good combine numbers, but if you cannot tell the difference in strength and athleticism between Cam Newton and Blaine Gabbert or Jake Locker then I don't know what to tell you. I have seen a lot of Gabbert and Locker on tape (TIVO) and if you think they are even close to as strong as Cam Newton is with the football then you are blind :)(I do not meant to sound snarky) Plus neither have shown any ability to make guys miss the way Cam Newton did. Neither showed the ability to stop on a dime and re-accelerate the way Cam Newton has. Neither has shown moments of complete dominance the way Newton had.

To put Blaine Gabbert and Jake Locker in the same class of athlete as Cam Newton is a bigger stretch than Newton being a great NFL QB.

Plus they are prototypes and if they are great it will likely be in the sense that most QBs in the past have been great.

As far as Mike Vick not changing anything Cam Newton is a more polished passer at this point than Mike Vick was at this same point coming out of college.

You're right that they aren't as athletic as Newton but they are pretty close, and certainly close enough that if your perfect storm of awesomeness happened to them, they too could reach that point. The entire point is that that perfect storm of awesomeness is beyond just unlikely it is largely impossible. Newton could become the top quarterback in the game today and that still doesn't mean he'd change the way the game is played because it's still FAR more likely he would be in the Big Ben/Rodgers mold than the Vick mold in terms of how he plays.

What players do you think actually changed the way the game is played?

As to references about him being the James of football (LOL did you know people called Clausen that??) if he wants to change the way the game is played, he better hope he's MJ and not LBJ.

MAV I like you a lot, I really do. But have you watched any of these guys play football?? Newton wasn't just the best passer in the SEC in a lot of ways he was the best running back too. I don't know exactly what you are going by when you claim that Locker and Gabbert are even near the athlete that Cam Newton is. Is it combine numbers?? Go pop in some games and just watch for a while.

Cam Newton has every bit the potential to be an even better running threat than Mike Vick because of his size and strength. If speed were the only requirement to being a good runner then Andrew Johnson would have been the best RB of the 2009 class and instead was undrafted.

This Tuesday, the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints sent some scouts to Akron to do their own personal workouts with some of the players. We have some very exciting news to report.

Dynasty client, Andrew Johnson, was told by the Indianapolis scout that he had the fastest timed 40 for any running back that the Colts have clocked so far this year.

How he used the word "absolute" was correct. If that's what you are getting at...

No, I was getting at his misspelling, misuse of verb tenses and his complete lack of punctuation. (Although, I have no idea why I bolded "absolutely.")
