My Big Board

This board while your own opinion, I see nothing but tomfoolery.

Good news is I blast myself every year for the ones I miss....it's usually pretty funny to see guys you think cant miss...well miss. What's funny is last year everyone thought Locker was THE cant miss....did he really get worse?

a lot of people say that but the draft advisory board group that gives prospects potential drafting areas gave Locker a 2nd round grade.

just like some teams had Clausen above Bradford, it's totally possible some had Locker above him too but I do not think Locker would have gone #1 and may not have even gone in the first round when all was said and done.

I know there is a scout who see's favre in locker so i'm sure you are not one of the only ones who think he will be great..I haven't seen him play that much to judge and since the panthers aren't really scouting him I've kind of ignored him.

I will say I've seen what Newton can do and how hard he works at it so I don't agree with your assessment of him.

Let me take issue with Locker v Newton and as many know- I'm anti- Cam.

Locker is not more athletic than Cam, they're comparable at the very least with the edge going to Newton.

Locker is a very good passer...on the run and on the run only. He's very inaccurate in the pocket and talent around him has nothing to do with it.

Locker is in no way better at QB than Miller is at LB, Green at WR, Dareus at DT.

Locker at two is ludacris and the reasons why you have him there are ill informed and I'm a Locker advocate.

Given our needs, I'd take Dareus. If you look at our history in the first round, we rarely take big risks, which is why we rarely have a bust. I'm not a fan of big risks in the first round, so I would welcome Dareus/Peterson/Miller/Jones/Green. Miller is not a need, but I prefer great players at positions of little need over guys destined to be cut by year 3 at a position we need help.

So you are okay with taking a DT number 1 and paying him 40 to 50 million who probably only average 5 to 6 sacks. I mean i have no problem with us taking dareus im a big fan of him as you can see. Going back to that National Championship game when he knocked Mccoy out I knew he was going to be a sure top 10 pick. I just dont know if the FO office comfortable with paying him that much.

Skins paid Haynesworth twice that much...

You're going to have to pay whoever you pick now that it's pretty obvious the rookie wage scale won't be in place.

Good post.

I would only say that it isn't "ill informed", its simply a difference of opinion, one that we can discuss for years as we watch them play. I've actually watched every game Locker played in college (most more than once), and I feel he had some of the worse help in all of CFB in the past several years. There are virtually zero pro prospects on that Washington offense save for Locker, something you cannot say about Auburn. I'll bookmark this thread and we can return to it....which I will eat crow if Locker busts. Would you do the same if Newton busts?

    • I mean I think its a bit disingenuous to call basically anyone here a casual fan. I don't think the casual fan creates a profile then logs into it, in the offseason, to comments on mundane offseason topics.. I dont think anyone on here would be considered a casual fan. That said, I get your point. My POV is from the player. They sign this contract, move their family because of these contracts. When Clowney came him, we basically had a coming home party for him.  So yeah, I get why we did it and I know that ultimately the owner doesnt 'save' money, but I can feel for the human side of the player, which is why I want them to get all they can while they can.
    • My guess is the NBA will either send Flagg back “home” to the Northeast in Brooklyn or Washington, or San Antonio so that they can keep building around Wemby. If I was a betting man I would take the odds on the Spurs. This definitely feels like a #1 pick that they will rig.
    • In fairness, she is ensuring she is talked about.  People really aren’t going out there way to bring her up.  It’s some weird poo.  She would end up getting talked about given her actions if she was 40. Bill realizing some of these high end “companions” got a game of their own.  That’s what I don’t think Bill saw coming.
