Or score on his own. Our offense sure as fug can't.

Honestly how many points can he really score 2-3 on specialteams maybe 2-3 pick 6 and that's a rookie of the year type numbers. We need more then a player who can be negated by not passing his way or kicking the ball out of bounds.

Taking away half the field from your opposing offense's passing game and eliminating their #1 WR is a pretty big deal, and I would guess somewhere in the neighborhood of minus 6.5 pts for your opponent, per game. That's important enough.

Add to that ill-conceived throws in his direction that end up as INT/TDs or points your way - say, 3.5 ppg or so over the course of a season.

Then, he's a return guy who's good for field position and likely to score a TD or two for a season average of plus 1.5 for the good guys...

I honestly think Deion Sanders was, himself, worth about 10 points a game in his prime.

I doubt Peterson is Deion Sanders, but a uniquely athletic shutdown corner/return man can make immediate difference on the scoreboard, don't think otherwise, and if Peterson is anything close to that, he's worth a #1 overall.

With TEs, Rbs, and 4-5 wr sets you can win with out going to you 1st or 2nd wr option all the time.

My point was that the argument of throwing to the other side of the field to negate a CB is overly simplistic at best. More targets in the passing game means the CB position is an even bigger need, not less of one.

Even with Newton in the draft I'd take DAREUS

He is NFL ready, has no baggage, will be an all-pro

for many years. Will cause turnovers and shorten

the field. No arrest record for theft, doesn't lie or cheat.

Loves to destroy QB's named Ryan and Brees. Is a leader.

No brainer here, we need to get Dareus not wait years on

a developmental QB with baggage.
