Taken a Defensive Player helps the Offense How?

drafting cam newton makes us instantly better all across the offense.

How does a Project QB who is standing on the sidelines holding a clipboard make our offense better?

If we draft Cam and he starts this year....we will ABSOLUTELY be picking #1 next season.

Even the Cam Lovers agree that this kid needs a year or two to learn to play the position in the NFL.

im for Cam but i disagree that he needs a year or 2 to learn. i mean poo some of you act like he NEVER played the position before.

In the NFL he hasnt, in a pro style offense he hasnt, calling plays he hasnt, under center he hasnt... so I think most people do agree, he hasnt. ;)

What he did in college playing QB is NOWHERE near what he will have to do in the NFL.

Hell, my 13 yo son runs a more complex offense than Auburn's.

The Texans had the first pick and they selected David Carr, we needed a QB at the time too, but we dont draft QB round 1, and Harrington had put up great numbers at Oregon and was a Winner... we went with Peppers who has way more pass rushing skills than Dareus, which is not the argument Im trying to make, Im just saying, with our lack of DT skill and depth, Dareus does what Peppers did for us, instantly makes us better along the line, making our LB's better, making our Secondary Better, making our Defense better, so we can hopefully make more plays and help our offense into some short fields. :)

I completely understand .But lets be real you think the Dareus would do what peppers did for us. Hell No. He will be a good run stopper. He might pressure the QB sometimes. He will make our LB better because he would keep offensive lineman of of them. He only had 7 sacks his college career. He may average 4 to 5 sacks a season. I dont really call that impact or worth been the number one pick.

and again he is not the 1st qb coming from a spread system, so getting him in on time will be a key to that. thats what OTA's and TC is for.

For the pro-defensive selection folks...how are we supposed to make our offense better? With late round selections, waiting another 1,2,3,4 years to take a chance to draft the kind of potential Cam brings.

Just what impact will Dareus have, he only had 4 sacks, 11 TFL, 34 Tkl, 20 solo, in 2010. Just what impact is that on an NFL roster more so for our team? Suh had 82 Tkl (2x as many), 47 solo (2x as many), 12 sacks (3x as many).

This love affair with a space eater (which is exactly what he is) has gotten completely out of hand given all the hate people are spewing towards the potential #1 Selection Cam Newton (his resume speaks for itself) so I won't get into it. But really in the next three years who really has the best chance to IMPACT our football team....Cam "Cammy Juice" Newton. To be clear if Dareus' resume was close to Suh's I could see your arguements but guys it's not even close, not to mention Suh did it his entire college career Dareus not so much.

Dareus is not a big, fat Kemo space eater. He's a monstrously strong mean motherfugger who can move. He'll be much more than just a fat body on the line.

All he was in college all he'll be here. He's not a disruptive force, he's not a pass rusher. He's just solid up front, we can find solid up front in later rounds.
