The last number 1 overall pick to be criticized as much as Cam?

Awesomeness!!

What's more scary is the fact we may be operating on the old rookie pay rules. Which means no rules/cap. Which means we could have a rookie that doesn't come into camp on time and demands a ton of guaranteed money. If Cam chooses to go that route, it will make the anti-Cam factions go apescheisse. Get into camp.

Well isn't that cute. CRA tried to make a funny....but failed again.

I do NOT hate Cam.

I think he has big-time upside, but has a high risk for bust.

Being the risk-averse person that I am, I thought the risk was too high to take. But, I have and do see the potential that this kid has.

He is a Panther now and I will cheer and support him.

Rivera/Shula have studied, interviewed, ciritiqued, tested, etc.. Newton to the nth degree. If they believe he is worth the risk, then that is good enough for me. They know a hell of a lot more about evaluating football talent than myself or any other idiot on this board.

I am not hating this pick....it just scares me.

I was just joking.

Cam scares me too and normally I would avoid someone that risky 9 out of 10 times in that situation.

High Risk? How? How would he be more high risk than Peterson, or Dareus? They can all bust. Garbage outfit..

Given the type of offense that he ran and the things that he has never been asked to do that are critical to being an NFL QB, he is a big risk.

There are critical things to being an NFL QB that cannot be evaluated on tape. Why? Because he did not do those things at Auburn.

This is not his fault, as he was not asked to do those things in the Auburn offense. My question is.....was he not asked to do them because that is what they wanted for that offense? Or, was he not asked to do them because the Auburn coaching staff knew they were not his strengths?

I have no idea which is true. I can hope that the Pantehrs staff studied him enough to determine it was truly the first.

I also hope the staff made this pick because they truly believe his will be that special franchise QB, and not becuase they thought the fan-base needed something to get excited about. Like most fans, the only things that excites us are wins.
