I just hope that Cam Newton becomes as famous in NFL football as Sir Isaac Newton was in math and science.

If Cam leads the Panthers to a few Super Bowls in the next few years maybe the "football gods" in the Hall of Fame can give him the title of "Sir" Cameron Newton or something. I hope that Cam proves he's at the genius level when it comes to his "football IQ".

If you watched Cam play for Auburn last year, you'd see that he's a creative player ... he can turn a broken play that should be a big loss into a spectacular touchdown. He did it many times last year ... like in the Auburn-Alabama game when Auburn was down 24-0 at the half and came back to win it. Cam got the team fired up at halftime and then went out there and did some magic things. It was a classic game that will go down in the history of college football forever. The Alabama fans were totally shocked when they walked out of the game ... muttering to themselves "what the hell just happened out there?"

I'm sure Cam will have plenty of games like that in the NFL. Panthers fans are going to be watching some super exciting games in the years ahead. Get yer popcorn ready.

Sir Cameron Newton: Leader of Men, Lover of Puppies...Esquire is still the best. You can change it to Scrub Newton in about 2 years though. Kid is going to be a huge bust. Not a Leaf/Russell type of bust, but a bust nevertheless. You have my sympathies Panther fans.

Great.... the prophet "Nostradumbass" has spoken.

    • Even if he beats the odds, returns midseason  and plays like he did last year it won’t warrant a big contract extension.
    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
