Colinsworth thinks there will be no football until November

This is most likely the worst case scenario. Unfortunately all signs point to "suck" at this time. Sure we have mediation on the table today, but Art Rooney II doesn't seem hopeful.

From PFT.com

"The resumption today of court-ordered mediation is meaningless because, for now, the NFL and the players have picked leverage over compromise. Steelers owner Art Rooney, II, essentially confirmed that reality on his way in to the mediation session.

“We’d like to make progress, but it’ll be hard to do,” Rooney said, per Albert Breer of NFL Network. “We have to wait to see what happens June 3.”

On June 3, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit will consider oral arguments in its review of Judge Susan Nelson’s ruling that the lockout should end while the Tom Brady antitrust litigation proceeds."

Nobody gets it wrong more than Collingsworth. He never ceases to amaze me with his idiotic observations.

He's always stating the most obvious at any given point. He's a simpleton. I mean come on...he was a Cincinnati Bengal. Boooooshh!

If the lockout goes late into the season, then I think there's a chance Cam Newton will never see the field (this season). We still have to sign all of our rookies once the lockout finally ends and with Cam being the #1 pick I can see his contract taking quite a while. Not to mention there's no way I'd want him starting that late in the season with very limited practice with the team.

Agreed. That will just give the nay sayers more ammo to use against the kid. People need to give him a chance. Jeesh.

I mind. They still will have to cram everything together and teams won't have the type of presason prep they need......and that will drastically effect teams like Carolina. So a Panther fan is left paying full price for a half assed product.

Teams w/ a coaching staff, playbook, etc. in place for years wouldn't be as heavily effected. Giving them a bigger advantage.

think of the whole season as an extended preseason in prep of next year. (and leading to another top 5 draft pick)

we weren't going to win anything this year anyway. new coaching staff, new QB not prepared for the air-coreyell offense..... we were going nowhere but back to the front of the line for the next draft anyways.
