Lockout: When will you start to panic?

Recommended Posts

So, are you saying I should just wait on buying some razor blades?

naw, never know when you need to cut a brotha..

Soccer free agency starts in June and July (depending on the country). Champions League qualifing starts in late June. EPL starts in mid August. I'll be alright.

Some of you should give soccer a shot.

already have.. and if I'm hangin with Jangler near those razor blades, I might feel a sudden urge to cut my wrists and anyone near me..

except, watching Germany play early on in the world cup was entertaining since they were dominating this one team.

but I want to punch someone every time I see a flop... dude can be 5 feet away from a defender and go down like he was stabbed a few dozen times. I realize most soccer fans have accepted this as a part of the game, but I can't take it.

if I start watching anything more consistently, it'll be rugby..

The NFL, players and owners alike, is going to be rudely awakened if they think fans will shrivel up and die without them. Most will be disappointed, but quickly find healthier things to do on Sundays than watch football, drink beer and follow fantasy teams all day long, and feelings toward the NFL will turn to apathy within a month or so if there's no season. Hell, it'll probably save some marriages.

I will not start to panic until more than half the season is missed, and there is no plan to extend the season beyond the usual Superbowl date.

But really, this should all be over already. It is getting kind of ridiculous and a deal needs to be struck that will be short term so they can play, and have the lawyers and business people to continue on negotiating a long term deal.

It does suck for those who bought season tickets and such. That is a whole other ordeal connected to this damn lockout.

Soccer just keeps inching its way in and I really believe that a lockout would be another little boost.

I don't think an MLS team would fit in anywhere around here except Va Beach

The Panthers have said they will refind our tickets for every game missed (+ 1% interest ). My parking space will be 100% refunded per game as well. So that's not a major concern. Missing the games and the tailgates will really suck though.

I have said this before, the one positive of this lockout extending into the preseason is we will not have to see Pittsburgh come to town in said preseason. All these idiots running around Charlotte with Steelers sh*t on their cars will have to wait for another time to see their team. And for this, I am grateful.

I hear ya man. Same deal with Sabres fans when they're playing the Canes in Raleigh. Of course they all live here now anyway because who the fug wants to live in Buffalo?

I just can't get into hockey.. I love Raleigh, but damn that poo bores me. feel about the same with soccer, although I'd rather go to a hockey game any day over soccer.

and this comes from a guy who used to watch both (especially hockey) religiously back in my teens.

hockey to me is a lot like baseball.. I'll go on a drop of a dime to see a game, but I'll be the first to admit I'm a fairweather fan (actually, I'm worse than a fairweather fan)

I live in VA Beach and I doubt a soccer team would do well here. I wish we had a pro sports team though, and would probably support it even though I'm not a soccer fan.

So true...speaking of the NHL (not to hijack the thread), with the Thrashers moving to Winnepeg, could the Falcons be not far behind.;)

I actually think baseball is more boring live than it is on TV, if that's even possible.

I've always felt hockey is the opposite of football - great live and dull on TV. Football is unbelievably great on TV and lousy in person.

Love Winnepeg getting their NHL back. I hope the Falcons move to Winnipeg, or even better to the Aleutian Islands.
