With that said, the dude is a BEAST and still young enough to have longevity if we pick him up... I think it'd be sweet to have him... I know our needs are DT and CB but he is a bonafide starter... Thoughts and comments... I figure this would generate enough of a response to get us through the next several days...

Edit: from what I gathered from the report on SC he wants a long term deal and New York only gave him two years. I think he'd look great in Carolina Blue!

Yeah let's throw tons of money at a 29 year old DE with knee problems.

Chuck Smith and Eric Swann are available.

Although he is talented, he isn't coming off of the greatest season and with his injury history, i think longevity is the last thing teams expect to get out of him.

:iagree: Maybe Osi needs a change of scenery, but with his injury history and attitude, I'd pass.

Considering we're about to lose Charles Johnson, I'd be willing to give Osi a chance.

I don't see us losing CJ unless he commands a ridiculous contract. The Panthers have said they're committed to resigning their core players i.e. Johnson, Kalil, and Williams.

On December 23, 2005, the Giants signed Umenyiora to a six-year contract extension for $41 million with $15 million guaranteed. He wants top 5 money so pass. He is good though Osi, CJ, Hardy, and Brown would be a mean set of DE's.

I took the time to fix the spacing in the graph and it shifted to the left anyways.

    • The coaches can't figure out what to do with BY9 much less Leggette
    • There is a lot of talk about his IQ and his commitment to the game and this and that and no one can firmly say one way or another unless they are with him day to day. Not to mention the standards don't jive with the presented reasoning for defending Bryce Young’s rookie season and subsequent beginning of his sophomore season and third season to where we are now 40+ games as he is finally beginning to string together better QB play. When I think of Legette present day I think back to Ted Ginn being a pretty significant bust with the Dolphins as a 9th overall pick and then coming to Carolina (twice) and still struggling with the same mental errors on the field and Cam Newton going back to him again and again and again and even going to a Super Bowl with him as the #1 WR. Deactivating him is weak. Figure something out to his strengths for the rest of the season and reassess in the offseason.
    • I think the season has been a success.  I try to look back at what I said would be a successful season before week 1 and we have reached that.  The success though has you wanting more haha.  But we've had improvements and are right there fighting.  Bryce has improved which was a big thing we needed.  Hope we improves more obviously.  But I agree with others about Evero, unless we have an offense putting up 30 points a game I don't like this type of defense he has.  No pressure either.  The biggest issues I see with this team are, zero pressure on the QB, soft zones, and the horrible special teams play on kickoffs/return coverage.  So I wouldn't mind replacing Evero if someone better is available and definitely get someone new running special teams.  When you combine Evero's defense and the fact we allow teams such good field position often it's a bad match.  Overall, we have won 8 games which is crazy.
