Our equipment is getting older, its simply time to upgrade and sell off our old ships to India. Plus we need to get away from the whole Cold War designed ships, planes, tanks, etc.

Think I'd rather send them to South Korea or Japan. Trust them more.

The Japanese generally prefer to build their own ships. And they build some very good ones. They do get some of their weapons technology from us though.

Most of the older ships are sold off to South America or countries like Turkey.
