Though as previously mentioned I wish I had something so I could get her surprise gifts.

As it stands now I can't even sneak her 10th anniversary gift past her.

i told mine i was taking cash out for a gift. i was able to surprise her with what it was, but i'd really like her to not even know when i go shopping.

My wife is teh brains, Im the brawn.. I have an account she does not have access to, but Ive had it for 20 years. The only money I used to keep from her was my sidejob loot, but now even that goes to the house sometimes. Sometimes... She doesnt ask questions about the money I keep or what I spend it on, she know I like teh canibus sativa and pretty much leaves me alone about it. If theres something she wants I make sure she gets it. Just like I get my Sunday ticket and my monthly poker games...

Just wanted to her from someone who's married view. I'm thinking about engagement, and I still think I'm still gonna have a separate account.

Well being recently engaged its something that i need to deal with as well. I still think a joint account with a set percentage will work best for us. So no matter who makes what we will both still be contributing the same %%%.

I also want to be able to buy whatever I want and so does she without asking. So that would be what our separate checking accounts would be for.

Yeah, I have a lot more money than she thinks I have. We'll have a joint account for bills, car repairs etc. And I'm gonna have my separate account for clothes, and other items I'd like to buy without her consent.

All goes into one set of accounts (we have a MM, a checking, and a shares, but it all goes in MM and then gets moved around)... I buy what I want... She buys what she wants... all put on credit cards and then paid via checking account in full each month...

We have to rein in our recent spending trends, because our savings is suffering, but that was mostly due to purchasing our camper this past spring and all the stuff that goes into it.

Honestly, I rarely buy anything that I "want," as I don't really want anything else... I've got enough crap that I don't even have time for... She'll buy clothes/shoes/misc. a lot more often, but as long as she's happy and spending is in control, I'm happy...

I let her do the bills each month, aside from my own credit card bill and my cell bill (we keep separate cell accounts still), which I just tell her how much it is every month so she can keep it in the bill book...

You'll be happier in the end if you just share everything... If you feel the need to keep things separate, I don't think it is your finances you should be pondering...

    • I'd hold on to Walker - we have no OT depth at all. Freeling is a block of clay - all the tools are there and he appears to have a great attitude. He needs serious work on his technique to realise his potential though.
    • From my watch last night: They weren't trading out of 19 unless it was a daft offer once Freeling got there. They were clearly antsy to get Hunter - and Minnesota actually called to offer the trade down. They weren't trading out of the third round pick once Brazzell fell to it (and Canales would have been happy with him in the second round). They traded back a lot on Day 3 - even if Morgan 'Babe Ruth'd' it with Lee, Hecht and Wheatley; they clearly weren't the only guys they would have taken at those picks. I'm curious to know which player caused the reaction at the start of day 2 (Dan Morgan): "of course they'd pick him"
    • Watching this confirms that this staff and front office is super high on Monroe Freeling. I wouldn't be surprised if he's gotta a real chance to win the starting LT job in camp. If he does, we can look to flip Rasheed Walker to a contender desperate for tackle help.   As for Ickey I still really like him and wanna extend him but based on how the staff was talking about Freeling it might be time for ickey to start taking some practice sets at guard if he wants to stay here as we are gonna have to have figure out a solution for the contracts of Lewis and Hunt.  My preferred scenario for the Oline in 2027 is Freeling-Ickey-Hech-Lewis-Moton.
