So Im trying to get back into working out...

Heard great things about P90X too, but I would have a tough time getting motivated to workout at home, plus I don't have a lot of space at home either.

I've been hitting the gym pretty hard, doing some different types of exercises than just lifting. There's still a few things that I can't quite do anyway with my shoulder.

I agree....that is what has stopped me from looking into it. It's like there is some weird brain washing that goes on with it. I don't know much about it but it is very odd.

It's not just a workout it's a lifestyle. Before you know it you'll be eating the paleo lifestyle. Just face it, tehy are cooler than everyone else. :coolgleamA:

Depending on your shoulder, when I first started working out (routinely) about 3 years ago, I did this program to get me a solid foundation:

It might not be your focus, but it will probably help supplement what your already doing and give you a subgoal to help you get where you want to be.

EDIT: They also have other programs on there too, for dips, pull-ups, sit-ups, and squats.

The cross fit following is a bit cult ish, but it does get good results.

It really is.

Some of my buddies are doing it, they get this air of superiority vibe. (none of the huddlers included in this statement) part of my working out is to shut them the fug up about it.

Problem for me is it is 150$ a month to start. Kinda hard to do that right now. (laid off last week)

Damn, man. I am sorry to hear that.

Any job prospects on the horizon?

cost is one reason i chose surfing Kurb. i paid $225 for my board off craigslist, and it came with fins and a nice leash. only other cost i've paid was for a rash guard to keep wax out of my chest hair, and some parking when i've gone in the afternoon. that's free before 9am though. once the cold hits i'll have to get a wetsuit, but that will again be a one time cost that will last for a long while.

its much better IMO than dishing out a monthly fee. sorry for sounding like i'm trying to push you out in the water. i just really dig it.

You need to go ahead and buy your wetsuit now. They are usually pretty discounted this time of year.

i've noticed that. i've been looking. i even saw some at play it again last week for cheap, but they didn't have any sort of description on them. could've been .5mm or 4/3 for all i know. all they had on them were price tags.

Back in the day I surfed year round here with a 2/2 long legs with short sleeves.

Now I would probably prefer a spring suit for fall and spring and a full 3/2 for winter.

i have a spring suit from my wakeboarding days. i figure a 4/3 or 3/2 would be good for november to february. then a hood, gloves and booties.

I never wear gloves or a hoodie, but to each his own. I just don't think the water here gets that cold, but that's just my opinion.

When I dive, I wear a full 3/2.
