smith/olsen/shockey/goodson....those guys by themselves make me feel good(not great, but good) about the passing game.

gettis and lafell have a year under their belt so they could improve or slump. yet to be determined slump is more likely.

we do have also williams and stewart who are reliable as receivers as well.

i was a little worried about the receiving corps until we brought in olsen. i wouldn't be opposed to bringing in a vet FA, but i won't be bothered if we don't.

Kudos. You used "corps" instead of "core".

But I do not see Gettis having a bad year this year. If anything, I expect him to have a breakout season.

i hope so...but idea of breakout season is going to be somewhat muted with so many targets coming from a rookie QB on an offense that will be running the ball 35 times a game.

honestly, i don't expect gettis to have more than he had last year. as talented as he might be, the targets just might not be there. he might get into the endzone a couple more times just because of his speed, but his targets will be low.

The Panthers do not need another WR. We have Steve Smith, 3 young 2nd year WR's (2 of which caught 40 passes last year) and 2 pass catching TE's.

Stop rage posting because we didn't trade for Ocho or sign Rice.

Now if you rage post because we haven't signed a CB that is acceptable.

BEFORE they signed Greg Olsen i said get a WR, BUT with Olsen, i think this offense will be fine with what we have. Olsen is going to take pressure off Smith and open things up more. i do think we need a CB, i prefer them to get Rogers.

    • I didn't move the goal posts. But anyone who follows football who wants to engage in a rational discussion can't argue that 10 7th round picks are equal to 10 1st rounders in value. The argument has always been we haven't spent as much on defense has we have on offense. Draft picks have value just like salary. We have not spent the same amount of draft pick salary cap on defense that we have on offense since drafting Bryce. It's not even close. Just the 2 1sts we used on Bryce, 2 overall 1sts have a value of 6000. That doesn’t even factor in DJ Moore or the 2 2nds. Bryce cost more than everything we've spent on defense in 6 damn years.
    • We need to hope this scenario plays our next week he fails with pressure…what that means with Evero, is beyond me
    • Woukd be a great addition You know the issues from my prespective, 2 things the Panthers must do 1. Edge or pass rushers or 2 oline or 3 oline or as Andy Reid says, when in doubt, draft a lineman it is time   That oline is troubling plus a small person at QB  they   1. Can do a lot better than mayes at center, 2. and lewis has had injuries all season. 3. Moton should not have  been resigned long term, 4. corbett is a shadow and will probably be released  5 and Christianson coming off Achilles   6 and the kicker, would be Ickey’s contract if they decide to keep him INMO rookie and contracts will be needed to offset all that
