We Could go to the playoffs

exactly, I;d be happy with 5 or 6 wins this year so long as Cam proves he can be a somewhat competent quarterback. Something Clausen came no where near accomplishing last year.

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised If we win more than that, provided Cam does show something.

I'm optomistic. My over under is 7.5 and I take the over.

Some of us want the team to do everything possible to make the playoffs every year. It isnt playoffs or bust. It is trying to make the team the best it can be. Starting Cam is saying we dont really care about winning this season.

nope, our division is too strong, we're a good 2 years off

Our defense is the best in the league. Our offensive line is one of the best in the league, Our running game is on of the best in league. Only thing we are missing is a QB. Heck I would even bet our WR's are better than any in the NFC South.

No, No, No, No, No

Our Defense is good but not NEAR best in the league. LBs are very solid but D-Line and Secondary are suspect as poo right now. Our line has 2 perennial pro bowlers, 2 good guards, and if he can stay healthy a mountain of a RT. Our running game is good but we need to avoid injuries and our WR group is average at best right now. Smith is the only proven one, everyone else will need playing time to get better.

We are a couple years off. It's one thing to be a fan, it's another to be a homer.

our defense line is total poo, our offensive line wasnt that great last year, but has been good in years past, our running game is amazing, our wr core is pretty terrible

If we were in the NFC West, then I would say...Yes, we have the talent to make the playoffs. But in the NFC South, 10 wins still might not get you into the playoffs.

That being said, I don't think we will get more than 8 wins. But 5 or 6 wins, as others have said, would be a positive. Looking at this schedule, though--and it is BRUTAL--its hard to see where even 4 wins are going to come from.

Success in a season like this hinges on a spark. Will Newton be the spark this team needs to catch fire? Stranger things have happened. I have faith, at least right now, that Rivera will be the right coach for this team.

One ray of light...

we play Arizona week 1. THis is the most winnable game on the schedule right now. If we can go out and get the W in week 1, something big could happen.

If this hadn't been a lockout summer...I'd be more inclined not to agree, but as it is I would have to agree. Asking a lot for a rookie to come in and start an NFL team with reduced prep time.

Don't know about bringing in another QB though.

I have to agree to some extent. Im not going to say we could go to the playoffs but I do believe with good QB play we can make a push. You guys have to be patient .What we need is a Vet a QB to mentor Cam and Jimmy. We need to see what we can get out of them its always growing pains the first year you guys need to understand that. But what makes you a better team is how you get through them. If Mark Sanchez Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco can get through it we can get through it to because i feel that our QB can be good to.

How is our WR corp terrible?

Some people, I guess, believe rookies should come out looking like a young Randy Moss. Anything less with Clausen throwing the ball with Fox calling plays, is terrible.

    • You ok bro? Too much offseason left for you to be going full "crazy" like this.
    • OK, switching gears here a bit because I did not want to start a thread about uniforms again because this is tongue-in-cheek humor----or is it?    Background Information:  My wife is a Taylor Swift fan (A Swiftee).  She says that Taylor Swift puts subtle "clues" in her videos and lyrics, hinting what might be coming soon.  Here is an example of clues that may indicate future releases or upcoming events:    I see a lot of similarities between Dan Morgan and Taylor Swift.  They both spend a lot of money and time on their hair.  They both have the same vowel (a) in their first names.  Taylor Swift has 11 letters in her first and last name and was born in 1989.  Morgan was born in 1978--11 years earlier.  Eerie.  So it is probable that Morgan drops hints when he is on Television.  Most recently, I noticed a shot during his appearance on Pat McAfee's show.  See if you can notice it.  I will give you 30 seconds (30 second pause).  OK, did you see it? In the bottom left hand corner of the photo, it appears that he has a canister of roll-on deodorant.  I am guess "Axe" scented.  Just to the right of his shoulder, I see a smoothie mixer, probably a Ninja "Bullet."  "Axe" and "Bullet?" We are going to war, it seems. Then there are two mini helmets, one being Morgan's alma mater, but it is also a symbol for "hurricanes."  Fall is hurricane season, the season during which we shall go to war. Between the two helmets, there is a framed, blurry, red herring clue--Morgan's gold-plated volunteer junior deputy badge.  But the real clue is there, in the far right hand corner of the picture---a WHITE Carolina Panther helmet.  Not silver.  WHITE.  Hmmmm.  A WHITE Panther helmet in the GM's office.  What could that mean?  Men with war axes wear helmets.  Men going to war with bullets wear helmets.  Men in hurricanes wear helmets (I am speculating).  White helmets to usher in hurricane season.  The calm before the storm.  Uncanny.
    • #1 defense in the NFL. A bunch of rookies wasn't gonna help that unit. Yet out there with UDFAs starting on the oline and nutting up the Super Bowl.
