I've been saying defensive line is a bigger need than cornerback for weeks, yet people keep harping on cornerback over and over. We are utterly screwed on the defensive line besides CJ. No matter how good Cam is, having the worst defensive line in the league (which we're going to have now for the second year in a row) is going to put a massive monkey wrench into the whole thing. Not only will it affect everything on the line, don't forget that it means Beason can't beast as well and neither can our other LBs as opposing lines get up the field on them. And then quarterbacks will have all day to throw the ball since CJ can't do it alone. And those quarterbacks will have nobody they fear in the secondary.

Ouch. Time to break out the hard stuff tonight.

Charles Johnson

Everette Brown (at least until Hardy can get healthy/get adjusted to the new D/beat him out)

And a pick 2 out of 3 between Corvey Irvin, Terrell McClain, and Sione Fua

not really. tbh we were pretty terrible at DT even before this happened but this just further exposes our complete lack of depth and experience at the position

Going from Ron Edwards to either Corvey Irvin or a 3rd round rookie is a BIG downgrade and it's not like Edwards was a world-beater himself.
