What I want to see from Cam

So with Cam's debut over, here are some things I would like to see from him on Friday. Cam has had some time to watch some tapes and practice, so I hope/expect to see just a slight improvement.

Accuracy: The throws Cam made in the opener were all around good for him being a rookie. However, I would like to see higher than a 50% completion rate. Any improvement in this area would be great. If that means taking fewer shots down field to get a big gain, I am for it.

Keep the drive alive: Cam didn't run at all last week, which I was fine with. But with him starting, I would like to see him escape pressure and extend plays. If Cam can get a first down without getting destroyed, I say let him do it.

Get a touchdown: Whether it be a throw, a run, or a hand-off to a RB, I want to see Cam put together a drive that ends in a TD. Although I won't go crazy if it doesn't happen, I think running with the 1's should give him a better shot at scoring a TD. But field goals work too.

No fumbles: Since Cam is a rookie I can understand if he makes mistakes. Interceptions will happen. But I think Cam has much greater control over fumbling the football. I want to see him play smart, and remember to protect the football. If he is scrambling, sensing pressure, or just taking the snap from center, I want to see basic fundamentals.

That's about it. Although I want great things to happen for Cam, I only expect the basics. Smart play, slight improvements, and solid mechanics.

What do you want to see?

    • i presented this in another thread. he throws better to the out breaking routes the wr run, but almost nothing to the inside. that is half the options on a wr route tree. How do you run an offense like that?  even the outbreaking routes he throws are moonballs, that allow the DBs to catch up unless the wr is wide open. he has to throw with a lot of anticipation becuase he doesnt have the arm strenght to get it there if he is a little late. thats probably why you see balls behind the wrs.
