Watch your Panthers on PS3!!

Playstation and DirecTV/NFL worked out a deal where you can now purchase NFL Sunday Ticket for the Playstation 3 and will be able to stream live games every Sunday.

This is big news for out of market fans that have wanted to follow the Panthers but were unable to get DirectTV and own a PS3.

Current Season Prices:

$340 for non-subscribers

$50 for current NFL Sunday ticket subscribers

The $340 is a little pricey for non-subscribers if you ask me, but I am more than willing to latch on to a friend's DirecTV account and shell out $50 for every NFL game...

they won't sell half of whatever they are targeting at that price. They are hoping to get some people to make the switch.

no thanks satellite

Make it 199 and I will go buy a PS3 today

Of note the ps3 is dropping in price by 50.00 if it hasn't already done so. rumor on the way to fact

Here's some clarification... Even if you dint have/can't get DirecTV u can get the ticket through your PS3... The OP wasn't very clear. Here is the entire article compliments of Gizmodo...

Xbox 360 users might have their fancy ESPN but the only sport most people care about is football. Sony just announced that PS3 users can sign up for NFL Sunday Ticket (a DirecTV exclusive) even if they don't have DirecTV. That means you can watch every NFL game straight from your PS3.

Here's how it works: If you're a PS3 owner but a non-DirecTV subscriber you can pay $340 for the entire Sunday Ticket package which includes every game in HD and the Red Zone channel. Before you scream expensive, that's about how much DirecTV customers pay for the Sunday Ticket package right now. If you're a PS3 owner and a DirecTV subscriber (who already subscribes to NFL Sunday Ticket) then it's an additional 50 bucks to use the PS3 as an additional receiver in your home (a little unnecessary if you ask me).

Basically, if you're a football fan who doesn't have DirecTV, this is what you've been waiting for. [sony]

Smart deal by DirectTv and PS3.

Might make some change over from Xbox.

Might make some change over from TWC to DirectTv.

Luckily I live in NC, and have a PS3 already.

But if I lived outside of NC, and didn't have ps3, I would make the switch, and if I had a PS3 I might would do this deal.

I have MLB.TV on my PS3, but it was only 140$.

Guess I need to put the definition of "non-subscriber" in the OP?

    • There are several posters that only post negative at all times.   8 wins is a big jump from 5 and we still have 2 games.  Jaguars have a much more talented roster than us and have underachieved for years.
    • All of this noise is just setting us up to lose Week 18 and proclaim life's not fair. If there's one thing I know in my 30+ years of watching the Hornets and Panthers, is that the bad guy always wins in the end. A team can be falling apart internally but we will still lose to them. A team's fanbase can be extra shitty and cocky and they will just win anyway. It always happens
    • Well even if we took diverging paths getting there...our overall assessment of Shough is the same (bolded) lol so I guess that's what matters.  What you call "playing at a level that looks like a veteran starter" is the same thing I'm referencing when I talk about his poise.  Although I still wonder how truly "bad" of a team the Saints are.  Their defense is middle-of-the-road, and their offense does have some good pieces (Olave, Juwan Johnson) outside of running back which is the position most everyone agrees is relatively plug-and-play.  I'm not going to pretend to know anything about the majority of NFL team's o-lines lol but I'm assuming Saints are not great there, although Shough's pressure % seems to have been quite low (and steadily improving) over the last four weeks (20 -> 16.7 -> 15.0 -> 13.0) so maybe they've been playing better as of late, or perhaps Shough himself deserves credit for that.   Some of the language I'm hearing about Shough, including talking about how he's way above league average in several categories, makes it sound like Shough is having a rookie season on par with like a CJ Stroud who established himself as basically a Top 5-10 QB his rookie season.  Maybe that's on me though, I don't mean to attribute anything to you that I'm sure you don't agree with.
