What does Cam have to do

Panthro

Recommended Posts

Simple - He needs to 1) outperform his rookie peers, 2) throw more touchdowns than interceptions, and 3) put the team in a position to win games whether they do or not.

On the first point, this comes with the territory of being the #1 pick in the draft. Picks #1 and #2 last year were offensive and defensive rookies of the year, respectively. The Panthers should expect something similar.

this is a good post.

i just want to see improvement from week to week. that's something Jimmy never did and why i hate jimmy so damn much. if he goes out there and just gets a little better each week then i'd be more than thrilled.

To be fair Jimmy didn't get any help last season. He's looked better this year because the coaches and players actually give a dam now.

5+ wins

2-1 TD to INT ratio

60 percent or better on completions

Commanding grasp of this offense

I don't know if there has ever been a rookie QB to achieve a 2 to 1 TD to INT ratio. Sam Bradford didn't. Josh Freeman didn't. Ben Roethlisberger didn't.

I haven't checked them all, but I think you are setting yourself up for disappointment on this one.

Edit: After a bit of research, Dan Marino was better than 2 to 1. He is the only one I have found.

Improvement is the word I would choose.

Stats are meaningless as I posted in the other thread where you got this question from. If you hard pressed me for his numbers I would have to take some time to think about it and I'd like you to post yours as well.

I prefer not to form my opinions on a player's performance from their fantasy numbers the past week.

    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
