Vasectomy?

I'm willing to do it next Thursday. Just PM me your address and make sure you have a pair of kitchen shears, some metal tongs, and a bottle of whiskey at the ready.

My boss had one done a few years ago and he has no regrets. The recovery is supposed to suck, but if you don't want another mouth to feed it's worth it I suppose.

3 out of 4 men in my office have had one..a good day off work with a bag of frozen peas....and no, no lasting effect

the cost would depend on your insurance..but seeing as that you're trying to prevent something..it shouldn't cost that much..I would think

you're on your 2nd child, right? even if you change your mind..it's reversible

Did you watch while they did it?

How much did it cost?

How long were you out of commission?

Any lasting effect?

I had it done a few years ago.

1)fug no I didn't watch. Got valium before so I was happy. You can't see what they are doing.

2)With my co-pay at the time, it cost 10 bucks :D

3)Out for about a week. Use bagged frozen corn for recovery. Your nuts will turn blue. FYI. :)

4) No lasting effects. Except no more babbies.

I am on the list!!!

true story to share....

have a buddy that went to get it done after his third kid...about a year later, they had twins. Went to the doctor and he said, ya, some guys have extra tubes, let's go in and snip that one two...so he did. couple years later he got divorced and low and behold, met a new woman and guess what, she wanted kids...so in he went for #3 to get it reversed...had two kids and yup...in for #4 to get it redone again!

would have been easier if they just put a zipper on his sack!

I plan to get one the day I have a second child. I'll already be at the hospital so it would make sense to have it then. Whether or not I have the second one is still up in the air though.

My dad had one somewhere around 8 years ago, and the Dr. told him he didn't have to miss any sex if he didn't want to.

You're laid back...feet spread. They make little bitty incisions on each side about a 1/4" long. So no...you can't really see it, but you're awake. Doc gives you a valium to take that morning before. Get it done on a Friday and have a driver/someone to get you stuff at home that day. Got in there and went easy. Woman lathers you up with iodine. He comes in...gives a little shot to numb and he's done in no time. I talked fantasy football with my doc as he was doing mine.

Can't remember cost. Not a lot.

Was only out of commission over the weekend. Get home...TAKE the pain meds the first day. Sit in a recliner and rotate the frozen peas down there. Don't lift things. Don't walk much. Just sit, eat, sleep, and watch football from that chair. Only get up to piss/poop...and don't strain at the poop.

Mid day Saturday you'll probably just be able to go to Motrin only because it's hard to rest on the pain meds...you'll sleep...but crazy dreams keep you from truly resting.

No lasting effect. My doc cut the tubes...put stainless steel clips on each end of the tubes...so no chance of messup. So you can feel the little clips if you're looking for them, but not an issue.

Wife and I love it.

    • I don't think it was fear of the unknown because he tried to hide the extent of the injuries that made him drop. After the drop, the reports I heard were that teams knew what was wrong with his knee and it was something similar to another athlete from a few years ago (honestly don't remember if it was even a football player).  That it was basically one of those things where he should be fine for a while, there isn't a huge concern of immediate injury risk.   But what he has going on with his knee is something that is degenerative and there's little chance he'll be able to play more than 5 or so years on it before he won't be able to play anymore. So basically it was teams knowing if they draft him, he's probably going to be only a rookie contract player and even if he's great, you might not be able to get use out of him on a second contract.  Which in turn makes the drop make sense, but I'm kinda surprised some contending team didn't take him late in the 1st, hoping he'd put them over the top on a SB run but then not even have to worry about giving him a big contract in 4 years too.
    • Depends if they see the writing on the wall with their roster and contracts and decide to bite the bullet and begin a complete rebuild and roster overhaul.  I have no clue why some franchises (IE us) refuse to do this and keep half assing trying to win 8 games or so.  Do it correctly, take your lumps and build a contender.  We shall see what loomis decides.
    • Each team plays 17 games.  I do not see why they don't just have each team play one international game per year.  Neutral site game, 8 home, 8 away.
