The Final Word on The Cam/Richardson Tat Situation.

An incredible article from espn that finally brings the truth to light on the situation, of course, it isn't very well publicized on the espn page, and it likely won't be brought up on any of their major sports programs.

ESPN would rather portray Richardson as some senile, old, racist, than correct the errors they made. Sad, but their ratings trump their morals.

We all heard the talking heads make comments over and over about Jeremy Shockey having tattoos..yet, not one mentioned..

In that initial meeting with Newton before the draft, Richardson had other things to say. As he relayed the story to Sorensen, he said he told Newton, "Things have been said about me that aren't true and that I don't like. I know things have been said about you."

"I'm not a choirboy," Richardson added. "I never said I was. And I don't want a roster of 53 choirboys. I told Jeremy Shockey, 'Don't change your personality. It'll be good for the team. I could do without the tattoos, though.'"

But, as Richardson well knows, the tattoos are a part of Shockey, which absolutely did not prevent the owner from overriding the wishes of his own front office when it came to procuring talent. Beyond that, if Newton should hook up with Smith for a touchdown pass, he'll be throwing to a player who, very technically speaking, doesn't pass the Jerry Richardson clean-cut test.

If i could make a challenge to espn, it would be correct themselves. They've spent enough time trying to make a story out of this even though there wasn't one, and now that they have successfully created controversy, they should at least see to it that the facts are right. Instead they will likely keep the only article unveiling the truth of the situation hidden in a dark corner on their page, and will only bring up this situation the next time they need to criticize Richardson for something.

Alright. That's all. I'm out of this conversation, I didn't enjoy it the first time and I won't enjoy it now. Just thought you guys should know that there was one media member that tried to actually research the story, but the truth will always get buried by the promise of a "good story."

I think the tattoo thing has to do with the fact that Cam is a QB. Personally I think telling him not to wear his hair a certain way or have a tattoo is kind of pushing it but I could understand it. Has nothing to with the person and everything to do with the position.

Funny is, I remember when ESPN came on the air. It was pure comic relief for the sports world. I don't know when folks started to confuse if for serious journalism.

The Jerry Spring Show gave birth to garbage like ESPN. The desire for knee jerking reaction and emtional outburst for the sake of websit hits matters to them more than integrity.

He also didn't title the article, he wrote the piece and ESPN put the title and artwork with it. He was pretty pissed because the title pretty much went against what he was saying in the article, I'd be pissed too.
