If Drew Brees did it...

Maybe Cam can too?

Brees put up 419 against Green Bay. I am not saying Cam will have a repeat performance, but it is still plausible that we will see something like 250+ yards passing from Cam, and at least 1 passing TD.

Also don't forget, Cam has some tape to look over. That last play, on 4th down, looked like Olsen could have had a touchdown there. Throwing to Goodson made sense, and it was a decent effort. I think Olsen will have a TD next week though.

So yes, while I agree that against GB Cam will probably not have another 400 yard game, I still think it will be entertaining.

Cam Newton: 20/35 286 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT.

I hate to rain on everyone's parade but Arizona's D sucks. Not saying Cam wasn't impressive but its like comparing apples to oranges. This game will be a real litmus test to how Cam handles a good D. GB has the type of D tha t can cause a lot of mistakes and turnovers. If Cam has a good game against them I will be ready to say he is our QB of the future but I have no idea how he will handle it.

I would say 200 yards passing 1 td and an Int maybe another score or 2 on the ground. All I can say is sunday can't come fast enough.

if cam puts up that stat line i will cry tears of joy. i expect a monster game from olsen vs greenbay, not sure why. greenbay has good corners, but we all remember what smith did to a younger charles woodson 3 years ago.

i just hope to see the same poise and determination in cam this week 2, i dont expect the same numbers. if cam proves that he is what a number 1 overall qb should be, then this year was worth it, no matter the record.

if it was drew brees throwing for 400 yards on the cards everyone would say that it was just drew brees cause hes just that good but since its cam its gotta be the defense.

Well thats because he does it on a regular basis. We have one game to judge Cam on. Its to early to tell if this will happening regularly or was it a fluke occurrence. I however think Cam will end up being an elite QB.

We're going against arguably the best defensive backfield in the NFL other than the Eagles this next game. An reasonable expectation that I would consider a strong step: If he can get over 50% and 200+ with at least a touchdown and 2 or less turnovers.

I'm just gonna hold my breath this game and make no predictions from this point on.

One big thing that GB has that Arizona didn't?????

Game film.

That will work against us more than anything else this week.

Ariz didn't think Cam would be able to beat them and so they geared their gameplan for the run and it almost backfired. GB won't make the same mistake. Now if we can use D-will and J-Stew more this coming week we may be able to slow the game down enough to keep this one close and sneak in @ the end. ( I know .. sounds like a Foxy strategy) But i believe that in order to beat the Pack you have to keep Rodgers off the field. Running will be more in our plans this week.

    • I am really sorry  that  happened to you they say to never meet your sports heroes i have friends who met  mickey mantle when they were young and he was a belligerent alcoholic at the time  ut broke their hearts  I had the opportunity to meet and spend  time with Cam Newton.     He was the polar opposite of Steve Smith and his public image.   Polite.  Honest when asked question.  You could tell the things that mattered to him and the things that  didnt. The disappointments in himself and the things that hurt him  those qualities make him quite a good interviewer too  i genuinely liked him   Im sure as young, rich, sports hero, he has not been a choir boy but there is goodness in him  the time i met him i took one of my friends with me from the west coast. She said she didn't like him and wasn’t enthusiastic about meeting him.  She left loving him   No one can say anything bad about ‘her Cam’ anymore
    • Agree about oline. They've tried their best to improve that area. But honestly, has it looked like the most expensive oline in the NFL to you? Not just with Bryce. With Dalton's one game where they almost got the old man killed.  Also YAC shouldn't always be hitting a guy in stride while he's running full speed. Pickens killed us after the catch and those weren't all hit-in-stride plays. I remember a play in Miami when a guy caught a 5 yards curl and took it like 30-40 yards to the house. We don't have that in Carolina. Horn might be the closest thing to that but he can't get significant PT for whatever reason. If Bryce keeps trusting his receivers to make plays, I think he'll become more consistent. Seemed like he only trusted TMac. And force feeding one receiver isn't sustainable. Defenses will start to blanket him and take him out of the game. And yeah, keep taking deep shots. I hate all that dink and dunk football. Hate it.
    • Dan Marino sucked too I guess. Washed up Elway carried by Terrell Davis was actually better than prine Elway. Lol
