Interesting Quote from DeAngelo Williams

Mr. Scot

I'm surprised I'm the first to say it but, that doesn't have to be a jab at Fox. Yes, it is well understood between us fanboys that that was his go to line; but is it impossible to think that Williams just likes the quote with Fox having nothing to do with it?

No. In some interview right after the lockout and asked about the new coach, he said something about "no more it is what it is".

Fox was a good coach for a while and a great motivator. He always has a competitive defense but the man knows nothing about offense and totally lacks the "go for the kill" mentality needed for today's game. He also sucks as developing skill positions and would rather ride on established talent in guys like Steve Smith, Deangelo, Beason, etc. because he's so inept at it.

Didn't these guys develop under Fox?

Steve Smith made his own man. Beason was bound to be great. Deangelo was riding the pine because of Fox's love for veterans.

Name one WR or QB that Fox developed into a main contributor. The only WR worth a damn was Carter and as far as QB's goes, Matt Moore played well in-spite of Fox not because of him.

Beason was a huge fan of Fox.

I'm sure many players loved Fox. Just like they loved his week off in TC every year. Beason would have been a monster anywhere he went. Deangelo should have been starting or at least taking majority snaps by his second year.

Fox was stubborn as hell and didn't scheme to our players strengths. As said before the Fox philosophy has no margin for error.

John Fox and Co. made this team more relevant than anyone prior to the arrival of Cam Newton. I'll never get the hate that is thrown at him. I think most of you that toss out hateful remarks are just bandwagon bitches that jumped in after the Super Bowl appearence.

fuging this.. \/

Fox rode the going to the SuperBowl ride to the point he got away with piss poor coaching.

I appreciate what he did for the team, but in the end he set us back more than he moved us forward.

if y'all don't understand that, y'all don't understand english. Fox did good things compared to where we came from, but Fox had as many flaws (if not more) as he had positives.. and for that, he will never get a statue, so move the fug on. ;)

I wonder how many of the posters on this board are as obsessed with old girlfriends as they are Fox. The hate is just stupid, bordering on weird.

The guy was and is a good coach, but he never got over the hump here. Maybe he will in Denver, maybe not, but I'm far happier with what he did than any other coach in Panthers history, and if Rivera can match it or do better that would be great.

Having Cam won't hurt, as far as that's concerned. :)
