The Panthers do not = Cam

Lumps

Ok, I'm exited for our new QB, it's great he is on the team and all. I am sure everyone is but it seems like after game discussions revolve around Cam, but Cam is not the Panthers, he is a Panther. I used to love reading threads about other aspects of the team and now it just feels like auburn fans have taken over or something. I thought for sure there would be more threads about Smitty than Cam but was wrong.

Another instance, CJ had a beast game, he also proved haters wrong who said he was overpaid. They may still believe he is but at least they can't say he is a one year wonder and not worth it to specific team needs. He made me just as exited. Yet I didn't see much on him from the huddle. CJ is just one example.

I know this probably won't help but can we get out of this Cam tunnel vision for the after game chats and while watching the game? Yes he is the future and doing great, but his first game jitters are over now, we all have faith in him, so it's be nice to start watching and discussing the team again. For everyone Cam thread you bump/respond too, it'd be nice to talk about the team as well so maybe bump one of those threads with some input as well.

The huddle doesn't need to mimic the media so much.

I'm hoping that Dan Connor steps up to the plate this year and becomes a star. He has big shoes to fill since Jon Beason is out for the year. The Panthers need Pro Bowlers and stars on BOTH sides of the ball.

I can understand that for media purposes, that is what the face of a franchise means to me. It's a face that poeple who aren't fans of the team will be most familiar with concerning the team. But this is a Panthers forum, I jut think there should be more to it.

Yep, I agree completely. This is Dan's chance to earn a big pay day. It will be sad at the same time because more likley than not it won't be here. I know he has it in him though and I know there were times last year when poeple almost sold themselves on keeping Beason to OLB and keeping Connor in. Obviously watching Davis this year I doubt anyone feels the same but that says something big about Dan, the Panther's LB's has never been an easy position to win over.

Dude I made a thread on CJ and Hardy, stop complaining.

Yea I saw that in between 10 Cam threads.

I expect to get a lot of poo for this from all the band wagoners we've picked up but what can you do?

I'm watching NFL Network right now and I've already counted nearly half a dozen segments on Cam and the Panthers. Last year a totally different story.

    • I think Canales goes before Young in that scenario.
    • But that's the point, if the locker room feels that way, then you're going to upset them by still keeping Bryce around and playing him over the Top 10 pick, as opposed to bringing in a vet to start until the rookie is ready. Again, it goes one of 3 ways... 1. Bryce plays well enough to earn an extension 2. Bryce still sucks and we draft his replacement who starts Week 1 with a new QB as his backup 3. Bryce still sucks, we draft his replacement in the 1st, but they start the season backing up a new vet QB who was brought in to be his mentor. With an OUTSIDE chance at a 4th option where Bryce plays well enough to convince the team to let him play out the 5th year option and then make a decision.  Which I can't see it happening, but there is still a non zero chance of that happening I guess. The only way we draft a QB next year and still have Bryce on the roster, is if we're taking someone in the middle rounds hoping to develop them as a long term backup to Bryce.
    • I hear you. But I am not absolving Legette just because he is from my neck of the woods or anything else.  Tge comment was more about the fans uneven application of blame.  I do agree that there is a noticeable disconnect between him and the QB and that he might do better with a more polished and capable delivery man.  Abd don’t feel that they used XL right, or at least how I expected it to look.  And that could be a function of a reticent WB that shies away from that style of attack. I mean it was either him or Canales that pretty much eliminated downfield from the playbook - even while we see guys running free at times. It Could work if they commit to it.  Whoever isn’t committing.
