Peppers and Cutler some thoughts

Denver's last three games

Rushing vs SD - 90 yards

Rushing vs Buffalo - 181 yards

Rushing vs Car 121 yards

So that's 392 yards in three games on the ground =/= 100 per game?????????

Reason's for losing those games besides for defense ????

Cutler 2 ints vs SD

Cutler 1 int vs Buffalo they also had one fumble

Cutler 1 int vs Carolina they also had one fumble

Cutler had 4 Int in those last three games even though he had a run game.

Crap you're right. I accidentally plugged in Buffalo's rushing numbers for their game hahaha. I apologize.

You don't think trading peppers and delhomme would be worth getting a quarterback who'll make this team competitive and as long as we keep a decent supporting cast around him, in the mix for the playoffs for the next 5-10 isn't worth it?

No, I don't. In the long term it would be a good thing to have a young QB, but we need defensive players, not a minor upgrade at QB. And in the short term, Cutler would just be a minor upgrade. Get Jake's last game out of your head and look at the season he just had, then do your comparison.

Of course not. What makes you think that Cutler would be happy here throwing the ball 25 times a game? He would be bitching and whining about how he isn't used properly and how we run too much.

Oh yeah, there's that too. There's only one ball, and I would rather it be in Williams' or Stewart's hands than Cutler's.

I dont think so....our play action would be off the charts

No more than it is now. Play action requires a legitimate threat at RB, which we have regardless of who our QB is. Delhomme throws a good long ball just like Cutler does, and later in the game he throws it more accurately and with fewer interceptions. Had we had Cutler against Green Bay, that game is a loss.

Cutler would be better three or four years from now. But, I want to win next year and for that we need to boost our defense, not get a marginal upgrade at QB.

I'm going to butcher Douglas Adams here for a sec.

If you took a couple of Jake Delhommes and stuck one of the Jake Delhommes on the top of the other Jake Delhomme, then attached another Jake Delhomme to the end of each of the arms of the upper of the first two Jake Delhommes and wrapped the whole business up in a uniform of fzking gold that prevented him from throwing passes to Cardinals players and shot beer lasers, it'd still be half the QB of Cutler.

God, that was hard re-word.

    • Outside of cerrato, I do like our draft overall. Hard to get can't miss draft picks when you pick late in the draft

    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
