the problem is the jets have a much better defense than carolina...and they still couldn't keep mjd from producing 100 yards of offense.

they aren't going to put the game on the back of a rookie.

Eh...that may not be the best plan against this D...If we can make Beanie Wells look like Marshall Faulk we'll probably make MJD look like Berry Sanders. I'd rather stack the box and force Gabbert to throw the football at any point in the game.

I think we all get it. The problem is you said this is a "plan". OK-the next time Ron has his coaches meeting he states the plan is to get ahead by 14 points real quick. When they stop laughing....

Honestly, our goal should be to make MJD string his runs to the sidelines. Up the middle, with our DTs, is our weak spot. Even with losing TD and Beason, we have fast LBs that can get to him if we force him to run to the edge. Just cock the linemen (like, have our 3-tech playing a 4 and having him crash hard on the guards outside shoulder, forcing him into A-gap while controlling B-gap) and tell them to crash hard, don't give up the inside gaps. Just have to make sure our outside backers are cheating a little more outside-shoulder of the tackles so they can get there to force the play back inside. And since we will most likely have 8 in the box, that shouldn't be too much to ask.

Of course, need a fast start from the offense again and we have to play with the lead the whole game just to force Jacksonville's hand.

Score early and often. And for god sake, stop getting so many pentalies in the endzone. U know how many points this team has given up in the past two games because of silly penalties.Just think u could be 2-0 or 1-1 if those TDs had counted.

Simple plan but not so easy to execute. That's like saying to get to the moon you need to get in a rocket and go very fast.

technically its as simple as getting up to 25,000 mph (Earth's escape velocity) regardless of the craft you're in. If you could eject yourself from a trampoline at that speed while being pointed at the moon, assuming you would make it through the atmosphere, you would get to the moon.

Early. Yeah it's stating the obvious, but I see more people concerned bout our D's inability to stopping their run when it may end up being a moot point instead of being concerned with the bigger problem:

If we let them go up......then they can keep our offense off the field and chew up the clock and at that point Cam isn't a shoe-in for a 400 yard game like everyone, including analysts, are predicting. It becomes a very hard game for us at that point.

Also getting ahead early against the Jags isn't the same as getting ahead early against GB. That's kind of the point that may have not been so obvious. Getting up early may just end up being the key to actually winning this game as early as the first quarter. That's not the case against other heavy hitting offenses. And it wasn't against Green Bay. I'd feel quite comfortable being 13-0 against the Jags after the first quarter. I was pissed and as nervous as if we were 0-0 when we were up 13-0 on Green Bay.

The Jaguars, even with their great running game can't produce the kind of offense our team can.

Man I do not disagree with your premise-I would love to see us go up early because what you said would probably be true. But then again who would not want to go up by 14 early against anyone regardless of what their strengths are? That logic could apply to any game. Would a way to beat the Patriots be go down by 14 so they now run the ball?

Green Bay? They gave the ball to us. They had the confidence of coming back from behind even if we scored, and getting the ball first in the second quarter. Paid off for them I would say.
