Q. How much did the rain change what you wanted to do offensively against the Jaguars?

Chudzinski: It changed significantly. It was kind of interesting. It was like three or four games in one. Early on it was hot and humid and some guys were actually getting tired. Then the rain started and then more rain and then the downpour. So we adjusted a little more at halftime on some of our thoughts and then the conditions got a little better toward the end of the game again. It’s just one of those games where you have to make those types of adjustments and do what you can do at the time… With the rain and the level of torrential downpour and the field being wet, it was a matter of keeping things to downhill runs for awhile there and then we could open it up a little later on. We did some shorter passes and the screens worked good for us.”

Q. It looked like early in the game you were seeing a lot of deep safeties from the Jags. Is that the most you’ve seen so far and how do you think Cam Newton responded to that?

Chudzinski: “That’s their style. They play a lot of two-deep (zone) and I think he did a good job. We were close but we were just off a little bit from a timing standpoint and just being on the same page with a couple of things. Otherwise we had some chances for some big plays early in the game.”

Ya, all over the radio this week is a bunch buuullchit about how we stalled, or we couldnt do this or that. Changing the environment changes the game plan so much that you have to re-think how your gonna set your opponent up, which takes time and several plays to do correctly before you strike with a money play. When the weather keeps changing it makes it much harder to reap the benefits of your "setup" plays.

Also really interesting in Chud saying that a lot of Cam's misses were because of timing and route issues... Shows how much this offense mirrors San Diego's... I love it.

I'm glad we faced the Jags and their 2 deep zone; because we're about to face one of the best 2-deep zone teams.

And the teachable moments from this game should hopefully carry over and make them better prepared for the Bears.
